Freedom of speech literally just means the government can't arrest you for what you say, and even that has limits. I agree with the sentiment, but please learn what the first amendment actually is.

That’s probably (hopefully) what said Republican politician was talking about. Also, did you know that China has rules for content on TikTok and the amount of time that people are allowed to spend on it? That’s because the Chinese government is _very_ aware of the addictive nature of the concept. That little dopamine shot you get every time you scroll to watch the next video is destructive to the ability to concentrate on something for longer than 5 or 10 seconds. It literally destroys the mind.

it has nothing to do with censorship my guy, its a app that the CCP has direct control, influence and authority over. A nation that has more censorship and surveillance then any other nation on earth. It has and will continue to participate in disinformation, propaganda and information networking in order to fulfill its desires. Currently that desire is a downfall of western democracy and economic strength. I understand you like your funny short videos but unfortunately we don't live in a fairytale land where everyone wants peace. Step out of your social media bubble and try to understand the greater geo political issues at the doorstep of the west. There are dozens of social media platforms that allow for the exact same expressions you find on tiktok, no one is taking your freedoms away. They are trying to protect western democracy and our way of life. If you want to understand real censorship, travel to china and try speaking out against Xi Jinping, you'll find little comfort in your jail cell and even less when you meet the executioner.
