I found $100 at self checkout before my shift that turned out to be a customer's cash back as I was paying. I should have never touched it. I had it on me, I got called into the office halfway to my shift and terminated. I should have just straight out turned it in or had given it to a CSM ASAP. I said I didn't have it stupidly, but remembered I did and gave it back, but theirs minds were already made up. I was told to to turn in my vest, badge, discount card and work phone and to leave. I was not arrested or escorted out. I will definitely never do that again. I don't condone what I did, but looking back, its best that I left Walmart anyway because of the stress of working in maintenance and sometimes all alone and other associates acting like they can't clean a simple spill or I can't even go to lunch or break, but everyone else can that I had to go to my car for lunch and that to other associates maintenance was basically their slaves. I was basically promoted to customer. I was not told I couldn't shop there anymore, but the main manager that fired me and the People Lead gave me a stare when shopping. If I wanted to, I could make multiple calls and report them. I'm a customer now. I am ineligible to be rehired. Walmart was literally one of the worst jobs I ever had if not the very worst .Its one of the top 2 between them and Home Depot.

I have NEVER stolen anything in my entire life. We were taught it was WRONG to steal from anything. If I had been caught I would have been BEGGING the cops to keep me because I knew when I got in the car the beating would begin and it wouldn’t stop..even after we got home.
