I can see why they edited out the part of the fight between Will, Jack and Norrington. Something about the way it’s shot feels awkward.

There was a lot less of Captain Hook killing a guy in the remake… Because the guy who he shoots through his cabin door was originally meant to die, but Disney reshot it months later so he survives.
@samsambroski943815 күн бұрын
He also got killed off in the original book, and in the 2003 film, bros personality is just dying
@joshsauer472515 күн бұрын
@@samsambroski9438 yea, I prefer the cartoon’s version of his survival above the remake’s. Like, are we supposed to forget the dude quite literally murdered Peter scenes before, or that he grew up to be a murderous psychopath.

Keep in mind that Captain Hook is the same Hook who appeared as the main antagonist of _Jake and the Neverland Pirates,_ of all things. Let that sink in.

A.C. Crispin wrote a prequel to the Pirates movies, "The Price of Freedom," that incorporates a number of things said in these deleted scenes, and also helps explain how Jack came to be a pirate. It's not a perfect book, but it adds a lot of flesh and texture to the people we know in the movies. It also explains Cutler Beckett, and why he turned out the way he did, to the point that I actually felt a degree of sorrow for him.

The story of the priest should have been left in. Not only is it great on its own, but the fact that out of all the empty islands in the Caribbean, Davy Jones chose to bury his heart on that one makes it even better

I wish WISH they’d kept the dialogue of Jack and Beckett in the film, the small exchange about their past says so much and adds another layer to Jack. Such a shame they changed it.

The deleted part around 6:30 is what has me upset. In the Movie we see the Governer floating on a boat, now dead and somehow he discovered the secret of Davy Jones and the ship "the Flying Dutchman" JUST OUT OF THE BLUE! But here was a beautiful piece of work that would've explained all that better.
