So rocky mountain race week isn't taking place in the rocky mountains anymore.. Pity.

Ironically... in this case the announcer ruins this race. For me.

Update. We now run 5.7sec 1/4 mile at 250mph

I was there...best drag race I've ever attended for many many reasons

Preach the Situational awareness!!!!!!! 2 weeks ago, 4 straight passes as the track worker waved me to pull into water box, people walked right across the front of my car, no big deal on stock bodied car but someone with a chassis car with a big scoop could hit them and not even know until it's too late. PAY ATTENTION PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!! Crew and Spectators that are where Spectators shouldn't be!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lucky enough to have been there with 2 friends standing against the pit side fence. When Boyd headed toward us, we were like what the hell just happened....wow..

Well . Let’s dig down to the meat of this . If a man wants to know the real numbers I’ve read as high as 22 hp is stood to be gained by the whole conversion . Theres no mention of the force on his dyno that is absent circulating the coolant through a radiator . The biggest drain in my opinion when it comes to old school V-8 is the fan . I’m sure that fan robs way more power than the water pump itself . Now for reliability?? I’m not so sure I’d want an aftermarket electric water pump on a car I intend to drive hours away from home . At the drag strip though . Seems like a very economical way to gain a 20 hp that’s just sitting there waiting to be freed up .

One time back in the late sixties at Irwindale we were racing the Willie & Mousey,this is when we had to push start the cars, so we’re pushing down to start behind winged express and Willie went to sleep and hit the guard rail.That woke him up and went on to run the race ,I don’t remember who won,Our car was PURE HEAVEN 2,my neighbor owned it I was just a kid in high school and part of of the crew.they would do burnouts then we would have to push them back.
