How to kno None find transmission fluid is low?

In the process of adding the fluid, how many bottles did you ad before cranking and how many did you ad while running?

bought original zf pan on ebay for $96 and 6 quarts mopar 8/9 speed trans fluid for $80 ebay

my truck is 2017 ram 1500 3.6 v6 pan is wide open no exhaust in the way.

The only problem here is I have 4 mopars products they are fussy to what they like for the Trans fluid stay with the factory mopar stuff.

One important item I sadly learned is that the "crush washer" is usually not given to you when you get a drain plug. I thought the plug and washer I was given was the whole item. Plug leaked and I added to the overtight from previous owner (leaks when i got car) and had to do new pan to fix. 1000 error. So be sure you get the crush washer also plus plug and don't make my error. I suggest you get parts from dealer for these oil changes. Why VW would use separate crush washer is bizarre. But now you know.

One concern I have is that the Mopar book says to level the tranny (not the truck) as this will result in a considerable difference in fluid level.

$466 for pan since the filter is attached to it lol.

Hey you jacked up the transmission to get clearance but the truck rear end needs to be jacked up because the transmission isn’t level in these trucks. You’ll end up being a quart or more low if you just put it on a level lift and don’t take into account the level of transmission pan rail.

What are some symptoms of a transfer case that has bad fluid or low fluid? Is there any significant improvement in changing the fluid as a preventative maintenance measure?

My 2016 Ram 1500 is different. It isn’t like this one. Any ideas where it might be located?

The owners manual for my 2019 ram says to use SAE 75W-140 for my 3.92 anti spin differential (rwd). Does this sound right? Im just confused because i cant find any videos of someone using SAE 75W-140

Hey, I ordered the trans oil, just did my change, but mine only took 5 ? Is that normal ? I did everything step by step, ran thru the gears at about 100 degrees I opened the filler plug and let it drain to a drip then closed and torqued it but I have an entire quart left just want to make sure it isn't supposed to take 6 no matter what

I got mine changed at 50,000 miles. I also tow a my favorite a boat! Differential fluid was changed and the transmission fluid at the dealership. Although they charged me a whopping $650 to get it done which is ridiculous. I have 60,000 miles now …

What if we just drain the fluid then refill without removing the pan???

I noticed you filled up the oil filter and then you said you put in 7 quarts of oil, would that not be too much oil if the max is 7 quarts? Great Video by the way!

I have this noise on my 3 cylinder diesel engine noise appears around 1000rpm , bought a tensioner pulley and belt , the mobile mechanics said the pulley wheel was not needed as there is no bearing in it as it didn’t turn , so he fitted belt and tensioner and noise is still there ? ?

If overfill, can I just keep driving until enough fluid come out from the vent? to go back to the correct level?

2015 ram 1500 8 speed. Acquired at 150000. My guess with 2 previous owners atf was never serviced. When not sure it was ever serviced, I heard sometimes best to leave it alone. We had no trany issues and have put on almost 7000 miles. Welcome everyone’s thoughts on what best to do at this point. Second owner tore up front right aisle so we only run rear wheel drive. May consider fix on This later

They seal the trans and don't have a dip stick to keep dirt out because the trans valve body and solenoids are oversensitive to contamination.

I have a 2017 Ram 1500 V8 Hemi 125000 miles, and I went to the dealer and asked them to replace the transmission fluid, and they said that this truck does not need to replace the transmission oil never because it's a seal transmission.
