If they take away free bags or make assigned seating. As a shareholder, A list preferred member and southwest credit card holder I will jump ship and go back to Hawaiian airlines.

Are you all going to keep using Boeing with the safety issues? I’m concerned about my upcoming flight after the Dutch roll incident….
@maxpower66585 күн бұрын
You will get to net zero in no time if you start charging for bags. More people will just fly other airline since you will be like the rest. So less flights for Southwest.
@maxpower66585 күн бұрын
You give in to this Eliot group and start charging for bags you will lose thousands of customers. You will be just another ahole airline then.

How on earth do we lower CO2. CO2 is carbon dioxide. It is what human beings and all mammals EXHALE when breathing. I'm no scientist, but I do remember from elementary school that trees and foliage INHALE CO2. That is a grand design, is it not?

Hi I am a professional digital marketer and SEO expert. I have really visited your KZfaq channel. Your videos are very nice. But the videos are not getting good views compared to the subscribers of your channel. Because your video title, description, social, SEO, overview are not correct. Fixing these issues will hopefully help your videos rank better. I can help you if you want.

Southwest is my favorite airline, the only one I fly--but I have to say I'm disappointed by these targets. Only TEN percent of fuels will be SAF by 2030? And only HALF of ground vehicles will be electrified by 2030? I know these things take time, but these goals seem ridiculously weak. Also, where can the general public see exact sustainability stats for SWA's offices' energy use reduction, partnerships with organizations, and progress toward achieving the goals laid out here? As a billion-dollar corporation, the general public will hold you accountable for what you say.
@Finn-hj4jy13 күн бұрын
On the topic of SAF, it’s important to note that it’s very hard to come by. Almost all airlines are looking for it now, and that comes at a cost. The price is much higher (source online says 3-5 times more) than typical jet fuel and there simply isn’t enough SAF available to replace normal jet fuel.
@helengiles49098 күн бұрын
LUV to hear that Southwest is your favorite airline. And these are all great questions. To Finn-hj4jy's point, in 2023 there was only enough SAF produced worldwide to meet 0.2% of global jet fuel demand. Southwest flies SAF today out of Oakland International Airport, but because so little of it is being produced, it represents less than 0.1% of total jet fuel consumption. We want this to grow, which is why we have a goal for 10% SAF by 2030. And we won't stop there! Our carbon emission intensity reduction target in 2035 (50% reduction vs. 2019) will require much more SAF - and of course our ultimate goal to be net zero carbon emissions by 2050. On electrification of ground support equipment (GSE), we are making great progress. As of December 31, 2023, we have electrified 37% of eligible GSE. We are more than on track to meet our 2030 goal. Electrification does depend on airports providing charging infrastructure, and we are partnering with many airports to accelerate electrification. We report all of this publicly in our annual Southwest One Report. You can check it out here to see our progress toward our goals: www.southwestonereport.com
