You have to admit, they were not great last year and STILL made the playoffs with a 10-7 record after having terrible QB play and a somewhat decent OL. The defense was put in terrible spots due to the terrible QB play and still managed to be a very good unit. Now look, they have a superbowl winning QB, better OL, upgraded their defense and have one of the best coaches in the league.

The COWGIRLS will never go to the Playoffs or even win another Super Bowl with Jennifer and Stephanie Jones playing General Manager. Jennifer and Stephanie are more worried about making Dallas a household name. But they don't have any knowledge of selecting players to play to play NFL FOOTBALL. Mostly all the player they select to guaranteed contracts are the biggest busts for the team.

Everybody knows that while Mahomes can manage well out of structure that he doesn't call plays & that without Andy Reid calling them, they wouldn't have their last 2 S-Bs which depended on Reid's play-calling. But what do these same fans say about Lamar? "His coaches called RPOs leaving all decisions in his hands ergo it's All His Fault." Dudes, putting a guy who can't watch out for open receivers _AND_ see how the defense is setting up all game in decision-making power isn't liberating him. It's leaving him adrift. The Ravens hung him out to dry for what, _EVERY_ time in the playoffs? & everyone just keeps praising their managers. "They gave him King Henry." Oh, the guy who won so many playoff games with the Titans? Instead of _two_ younger RBs & OBJ? _And_ they let 3 of 5 starting o-linesmen go & think this older RB who is already slower than he used to be will what, start aging in reverse because the o-line is younger? They almost didn't strip away talent as much as the Cowboys did. Oh wait, they lost possibly the best DC in the NFL too. There go all the roster upgrades on D as well. "Don't worry. I realize that the format of YT videos limits what you can say, so that's gonna limit how much of a discussion we can have. This isn't the first time the Ravens have made moves designed to undermine Lamar. Not by a long-shot. What's truly sad is *everyone **_KNEW_* he was a _MUCH better QB_ in that draft. The Browns have shot themselves in the foot over & over seeking their Franchise QB before _& since_ then. The choice & mistake was theirs & had they just done this, they could have been in a couple of S-Bs by now. No way with Stefanski does Lamar not contend with that roster! Meanwhile, Greg Roman reduced Lamar's MVP stats of 36 TDs to only 6 INTs to 16 (less than half) & 13 (more than double) & his *own team **_bent over backwards to justify 'having to' do this to him for non-existent excuses._* We already lost 3 years of the prime of an MVP's career. Here goes another one.

That's abroad statement. You don't get to get into details about it even if I do. I could link videos made by some VERY good analysts on _how_ Roman's play-calling sabotaged LJ8. But in that case, the details aren't important beyond One Fact: _EVERY other team in the NFL knew how to defend _*_ALL_*_ his passing plays._ So what are the odds that Every Other Team could see what was wrong but _no one_ on the Ravens did for three years & they are competent? By all accounts Lamar is attached to the community in BAL. I imagine this blinds him to what's being done to a certain extent. As a society, we tend have a childish belief in businesses & wealthy people & often refuse to adjust our beliefs to reality. Hence my name here. But he needs to realize that he helps fewer people if he makes less $ & the Ravens were trying to sabotage his ability to make $, undermine his ability to net the huge contract. & they already did so for years, certainly delayed it. But Poles & Eberflus did Fields even dirtier & not even for something like the team's bottom line. Got any insights into that?

Dak wasn't second that was Allen. Jackson got 49 out of 50 votes Allen got 1 Dak got "0" just like every one else. Dak got all his stats by beating bad teams and running up score. Thats why they got creamed first time they faced a good team.

While you're not _wrong,_ I wish people would put the blame where it needs to go. Mike McCarthy is the same Every Close or Big Game: his play-calling goes in the toilet. Even in that Detroit Lions game everyone blames on the refs (you can correct a ref after they announce the wrong player # & _all_ the Lions' players heard him call it, audio even picked them up discussing it) the Only Reason the Lions got close was Mike started calling Soft Zone Defenses. The Lions feast on that: they run their passing game with Goff to St-Brown, not deep to anyone. Jerry Jones it seems is scared to Really Try To Win then lose so he's stripping down the team. While Pollard wasn't great someone looked at the stats & it's a tale of two halves. The first half of last season he was recovering from an injury. He was great in the 2nd half. So they let him go for no good reason. Ah well.

When you think about it, it's amazing that more countries don't have more sports. Me, I'm analytical. The _Players_ can't carry a terrible play-caller (Cowboys) & Daboll can't make Daniel Jones stay focused. The Bills will Never Be Able To Win with McDermott as HC (I feel like the only person who actually read that article about him. Winning makes him want to sh!t his pants then hide, not necessarily in that order). My point is if one looks only at roster, _lots_ of teams seem good. Weren't that many Xs & Os here to pick apart though, were there?

You don't gamble when you have the game won already and if you lose you give them a chance to get back in the game and did it there times and lost all three times and probably lost a Superbowl ring in the process just to gamble for no reason. Nothing to win because the game was already won but everything to lose if the gamble doesn't pay off its like betting everything for a bag of chips it doesn't make sense but he is a great head coach just a lousy gambler everything to lose vs nothing to win. Extremely bad bet considering the circumstances. You gave them their only chance to get back in it by going for overkill and gave them the momentum and a spark of life.

Wow does this miss the mark. In other comments you asked for facts. Here you go. CJ Gardner Johnson was not a big loss for the team. He was injured almost the entire 2023 season. A far greater loss was Josh Reynolds. He was a very, very steady receiver who was unfairly blamed (grossly unfairly) for the playoff loss to SF. Yes, Jonah Jackson was a loss, but they have multiple players able to fill in and not shelling out big dollars for Jackson meant retaining plenty of cap space. They are still rated as having a top-3 offensive line and many rate them at number one. There is only a brief and dismissive mention about additions to the secondary but lots of talk about how bad they were against the pass last year. Consider, with that defense, they got within a hair of the SB. They are undoubtedly improved. No call out for the many team strengths, including the numerous outstanding draft picks over the last couple years, retaining both the offensive and defensive coordinators and much more. As for metrics used by Dan Campbell, it should be noted he got a team that was a mess a couple years ago. In three years, he (and Brad Holmes) rebuilt the team to a top 10 (maybe top 5) roster last year and improved it for this year. If you are asking viewers to make a choice between Campbell's decision-making metrics and yours, I will choose Campbell. Your opinion is noted, thank you. Are the Lions a shoo-in for the SB this year? Hardly. Plenty of great teams this year The Lions are one of them with a solid chance to make the SB --- and make it this year. As for 'dreams shattered,' you have again missed the point.

As for CJ, it will be a bigger loss than lions fans think and asking rookies to be supermen asap is a lot to ask but Detroit assume away. If the DB rookies are supermen in year one, congratulations. You briefly cover the defensive backfield but ok, and you move to Josh Reynolds at WR. Not blaming him but was he a supreme playmaker in the grand scheme of things, nope! Multiple players to fill in for one as only one player at a time can play! Hmmmmm, good luck and it will be a tall task in this league! As far as Dan is concerned, I’m he’s aggressive and some years it may work but some not BUT some of the decisions were a definite no go but his persona thought otherwise. Will he tone it down? Will he feel like he needs to maintain his edge? Either way, with his percentage and obvious results in going with me, lol!! Do the Lions have what it takes defensively, yes BUT that secondary must grow like a chia pet on steroids! Will the offense be able to increase their output? The OL is top 6, not 3 and Goff has to be better than he was last year and some have him at a #12-15 QB in the league. I’m pulling for Detroit, I want Barry and Charles to boogie with the superbowl crowd at least once for the BS they endured and Detroit has most of the roster to do it but let’s be honest, questions still remain. I’m taking they MAY not win the bowl as I said. Again, MAY not!!

To sum this up. Lions did so good last season. They had their weaknesses. During the off season they upgraded essentially everywhere except for losing a middle of the pack safety who used to be decent when he was on the saints. SOMEHOW after essentially only upgrading the roster during the offseason they won’t do good next year. And if you go read the comments about how no one agrees with him he’ll just comment “homer”.

Any Superbowl contender could see their team succumb by injuries to key players and/or sub-par performances...shit happens. See Eagles & Browns. BUT the Lions' brass has moved to mitigate that by building a deep roster with talented backups. By 2025, the Lions' defense could become as good and deep as their offense....who itself will have a talented backup to Goff with 2 years of learning the position in the event that Goff misses some games.

Rookies compete for jobs. Really good ones get the job they want. Last year Sam LaPorta, Jhamyr Gibbs and Jack Campbell started as rookies. The year before that Aidan Hutchinson, Brian Branch and Amon Ra St Brown started as rookies. And before that Peneii Sewell started as a rookie. Ever heard of these guys? They were all NFL ready. All Star talent. Coincidence?
