A technically perfect solo! You hit all the changes, but created no melody. Maybe focus less on the chords, and more on giving a tune.
@peterhedrichtrombone3021Ай бұрын
For me, it‘s a great example for creating a melody. He develops his motives in a logic musical and harmonical way
@imafreewin470825 күн бұрын
This is a perfect example of a terrible comment! Maybe you should get your ears checked or better yet, actually analyze what he played in the context of the entire solo and not in context to what ever chord you’re looking at in the moment. Maybe then you could play in a ensemble like this one day instead of sitting in a YT comment section trying to criticize someone who clearly has a better understanding of improvisation, and in general the idioms of Jazz Trombone than you?!? Just a thought.

Hmm... A learned solo, methinks! Greatly executed but not improvised. Brilliant nonetheless!

I had the privilege of listening to Andy quite a few times when he was in Cleveland. Outstanding musician, superb soloist and an all-around great guy. Every time I see him now on KZfaq or hear him on a recording, I'm always thankful I got to hear him live so many times.

@@peterhedrichtrombone3021 thanks, and do you felt a significant improve in your sound/projection/register when playing on it or not that much ?
@peterhedrichtrombone3021 Жыл бұрын
@@julessarran3698 there is more core in the sound, but I think that relates to more weight of the mouthpiece. You get the same effect on Bach megatone mouthpieces. It's a good mouthpiece but I would not recommend it. It is definitely way too expensive.

I LOVE it! Rhythm changes ARE NOT Rhythm Changes. I Got Rhythm i s 34 bars long. not 32. Found this out in my first bebop gig when the leader said, "Rhythm changes," and glared at me when I added the tag. How the HELL should i know?
@simonlutgens10 ай бұрын
Rhythm changes are based on the changes from I got Rhythm, but almost all the tunes written over rhythm changes are 32 bars. When someone calls out rhythm changes, it will be 32 bars unless they say otherwise

Bei dem Posaunen-Modell eher die Version Messing oder Goldmessing nehmen?
@peterhedrichtrombone3021 Жыл бұрын
Ich denke das ist Geschmackssache. Mir persönlich gefällt die Goldmessing-Variante am besten. Goldmessing macht den Klang eher etwas dunkler und wärmer. Was aber per se weder positiv noch negativ ist.
