I have those same switches on my boat. They do not like water. I replaced a few thinking the the seal was bad, the new ones did the same.

I had a problem where the generator didn’t start. I bled the line as you demonstrated and that got it started. However, the generator cut out while we were running the boat for several hours. I noticed on the fisher panda website they have a video on bleeding air out but they say to just push the button for 1 to 2 minutes. They do not mention opening the bleed nut. Your video makes more sense. Do you know why they would not mention the need 10mm nut? Also, any thoughts on why mine still cuts out after running awhile.

I'm not sure why they would tell you to open the bleed valve. Maybe so people don't open the fuel system and cause more problems. If yours is cutting off after running awhile I would replace the fuel filters and check the fuel lines. Any little restriction causes the fuel pressure to slowly fall. They are very reliant on the fuel pressure being a diesel. If you have too much vacuum in the fuel system it creates air and can cause it to shut down. Keep me posted on what you find. 😊

That is a great point and I definitely did. I try to make the videos a certain length to not make them too boring. I have them in my van and a bunch of other washers/gaskets. It's a 50 cent part that could cause a serious leak later. Good point. Thank you 😊

Those SureShades can be a real problem. The actuator on a Sure Shade on a boat I bought was faulty, and the seller said trying to get it repaired was a nightmare. No service whatsoever. I ended up removing it from the boat completely. Many boat owners have reported problems with SureShade units.

My cantrak display ok button (the one button you need to engage the p ) isn’t working. Display functions but can’t click the button all the way to the right. Emailed domestic 50 times and they won’t respond after the first email. Will never ever have this system in a boat. Never ever ever ever what a pos.

I just found you video yesterday thank you super helpful. I'm running a single outboard and having the same alarm issues is the smart stick easy to install and once installed does it need to be calibrated? Any idea of the part # I need mercury 250L? Thank you
@JustinLeeMarine
@JustinLeeMarine Күн бұрын
You should not have to do anything if it's just a faulty sensor(smart stick). The part number should be HA5501. Double check this because if it's a pro series steering ram then it has a different part number.

For those with no money to waste. The pump has two thick wires black and red with a fuse. Check for 12v on those. Then the pump has another harness. The one he replaces in this video with 3 wires. Black, purple and white. The purple is +12v and it’s the only one needed to activate the pump. Use a voltimeter or test light to check for power on the purple wire before buying the harness.

@alexbernal4988
@alexbernal4988 10 сағат бұрын
@@raidel8815 The motor has to be running before you test for 12v at the purple wire. Your name makes me think on a Cuban guy. If you are. Ponle un chucho en la pizarra para alimentar la bomba de steering directo a través del cable morado. . De esta manera si tienes un bajo voltage debido a mala batería o alternador puedes apagar la bomba y llegar a casa.

Question: for having vacuum on that tank it needs to be complete closed. For emptying it needs air to get in. How is this done?
@JustinLeeMarine
@JustinLeeMarine 5 күн бұрын
Once you open the cap or the thru hull valve it releases the vacuum. That allows air to enter and the tank to be pumped out. The vacuum pump that pumps it out is stronger than the vacuum that might be in the tank and it draws from the bottom so it removes everything from the tank. Same as the macerator pump that pumps it out of the boat.

Man, that is a lot of nice boats. Made in China CAN be bad, but frequently that is due to the cost US companies wish to sell the goods at :) iPhones are Made in China and their quality is great. It all depends on the manufacturer, the yard, and the oversight.

Hi Justin thx for videos . Can’t find the one I’m looking for but anyway question ?? I have a 2009 volvo penta 5.0 gxi with dual prop out drive . Trim works fine but when I’m cruising and I operate the trim I’ll get a vibration but I can find a sweet spot where the vibration stops .Also the vibration will start during turns also but not always . I’m gonna pull it out today and look at prop . But do you have any ideas ??
@JustinLeeMarine
@JustinLeeMarine 11 күн бұрын
I would say the common issues with what you are experiencing are U-joint assembly going bad, bent propshaft, or motor alignment. You would have to pull the drive and check the U-joints and check drive alignment. They both can cause odd vibrations. Keep me posted 🙂

@JustinLeeMarine
@JustinLeeMarine 11 күн бұрын
@Americanboy5150 my best guess would be around 4 hours of labor plus parts. Just depends on what they find when they pull stuff apart.
