Yep, I have a chip on my tanto lite right where yours is. Apparently, not all SR-1's have this problem. I know cause I have both lites, and both premiums. The tanto is the only one chipped but, it's also in my backpack 24/7 and my pack gets pretty banged up! Still though, this is a very interesting issue!

Yes: well spoken, I have the standard USMC; or 7" model. The big brother to me, seems unwieldy; perhaps kinda clumsy: the standard model or even the "short" Ka Bar feels more nimble and quicker. That to me, is what's more important: sure the big brother looks maybe more intimidating; but speed kills. Great video bro. 🔪

Welcome to the lamp appreciation society. I started getting into them last year after a friend asked me to restore one. I now try and find them at clearance sales, (for you in the US, yard sales or thrift stores). Only advice is to buy the wicks matches and lighters. all the best from the UK,

If you subscribe to the two is one mentality one of each in your bag would be ideal if only for the windproof nature of the Zippo.

Evaporation? Evaporation is not just about Zippos. All petrol wick lighters evaporate since they aren't air tight. I have a Myon Autolux lighter from 1934 from France. It's a petrol wick lighter and evaporates just as the Zippo does, though at a lesser extent since the Myon is more sealed than a Zippo. That's why they came up with the innovation in the 1950s called the butane lighter: A wickless lighter whose flame strength you could regulate and it also doesn't evaporate since it is airtight. That being said, if you want a Zippo that doesn't evaporate, you could get yourself one of those butane inserts from Zippo such as the torch and yellow flame inserts. I personally, though, would stick to the old-fashioned petrol wick lighter since it's more reliable than a butane lighter. One of those seals break in a butane lighter, and you're almost always done. Plus there's something about the petrol wick lighter I find fascinating, lighting up the old-fashioned way.

I bought one of these and instantly regretted it. The stitching looked like Ray Charles did it. The type of Nylon is also trash. I sent this back before the mailman left my porch basically. Your wasting money buying CVlife products. Much better off buying used gear if you can't afford decent gear. If you plan on taking walks with 10lbs I'm sure it will be fine but that's about it.... Well done review, great sound quality

I have a CS Drop Forged Survivalist for about €90,-- Now, I really like the looks of Esee6 a lot, but they cost more than 2 times the price, about €210,-- over here. Sincere question : Is the Esee6 really 2 times 'better'? Stronger? Tougher? Stays sharp longer? Thanks in advance to all responders! Greets from the Netherlands 🇳🇱, TW.
@MNWoodlandАй бұрын
I love Esee, but at that price it is hard to justify unless you badly want one. The steel used between the two knives are very comparable, so not enough of a difference there. Though I have no experience with that specific cold steel knife yet, I have heard great things about it and I’m sure it will serve you well.
