I lived in Saudi for 4 and a half years and all I can say is it was the worst years of my life. I always said if I could be free like an American is and live there it would be great. I was not free and you learn from living there how much you love your freedom.

I have been applying for various roles in riyadh the previous 7 months, but after observing carefully linkedin in premium, I realised for every single vacancy, recruiters receive approximately 1600 -2000 applications within a time period of a month. As you understand, it WILL BE practically impossible to call you back for an interview, even if you have done a very good job with the CV.
@Arcyamen3 күн бұрын
Unfortunately it's near impossible even with UK citizenship & tons of experience in the UK & Saudi. 1 year now looking for a construction job in Saudi with no luck (should be piece of cake looking to NEOM construction boom but it's all on TV with no genuine openings) . Plus all employers want to pay you the crumb or to get you for a local usual salaries

Don’t give up hope. It takes time to find a job in Saudi. You have to search a lot and be very patient. It also helps if you have a connection, someone you know already working there who could help you get an interview. The second time I went back to Saudi, it took me 2.5 years and hundreds of applications before I got an offer.

@@cherylobalcrossculturalexpert Thanks for the heads up Cherly, there's hope but the recruitment process is ridiculously lengthy and lots of berucratic non sense. As you hinted, ''Wasta'' has a big influence so you need someone who has influence and is genuinely willing to help from inside org. thankfully I live with parents now so not worried about rent. The job market in the UK isn't encouraging either...
