Thanks for putting this out there, I’m interested to understand how fighting EV fires can be improved. The fire blankets look like a good method for containing the fire but as it’s exothermic not putting it out. Would a fire blanket with its own hose extension that comes like 30 feet off to the side and can be attached to the hose to pump water directly into the car be of use? Presumably it’d be positioned directly over the windscreen to direct the water right down on the battery.

Cell tower technician require too much safety/ education to get paid so low. I made $19 an hour as a plate mounter which is a much safer job and requires much less. Cell tower techs should be making at least $55 an hour. Screw that $17-21 an hour to start off I have lost interest in even trying.

"Adventure" to the middle of nowhere. Might as well work for a commercial airline. (Not a contractor.) Generally speaking, in ten years of FT employment you'll be making $35 an hour, 401k company match, medical, dental, and vision insurance, and lifetime flight benefits. Go see something besides "Wherearewe", South Dakota.

Thats not a bare bones set up mate 😂 you have shit hanging off tou everywhere! All you need is a harness woth inbuilt seat, a pile belt (adjustable work position strap) and a set of twin hooks.. Twin roping down to looks at an antenna is a gige waste of time just climb and get into position no need to over complicate it

There's a video circulating... making the rounds again on KZfaq: man makes $20,000 per climb to change a light bulb. I guess that's only for the 1500 ft tower and he's already go that job. I'd do THAT workout for THAT money twice a year. But 22/hr??? I cant afford to that pay cut.

I do fancy the job. Always wanted a crack never went for it. At 60 the urge is still there, sadly the my bones disagree. We have plenty of towers here in UK so you never know? One day maybe.

That late 1990's Ford Taurus looks so nice, a distinctive round design. Would enjoy to own one one day. Looks like just the windshield needs replacement. On the con side, the nose of the car seems very low. This could be why dummy flew right into the windshield. Not sure since a test would need to be done on a newer car. How would a 2010/2020's car be compared to a 90s car with this type of test for the pedestrian?

18$ to 20$ an hour you can’t get buy with that little amount of money that really is horrible these guys are much needed for the job and not everyone can climb a tower they should get at least 80$ per hour your only up there a few hours not even a 8 hour day on the tower so these guys should definitely get at least 80$ to 100$ per hour… 18$ to 20 $ not worth risking your life for that little bit of money whoever pays them should feel ashamed of themselves

You see, you take this rope, see, and you clip it on the metal things that are welded to the towers. Then you climb 400 meters into the air, and replace a lamp. Btw, the metal the clips is mede from was made in China.

Good lecture. From my view, these are things you learn by doing and having done to you. Hearing them doesn't change things. Mistakes happen. Feelings of the new job still exist. Trying to implement the goals and mission of the company doesn't change them overnight. Its the guy, just like he is saying. And the guy can't change things until he changes for the job. As he said, you aren't ready just because you busted your ass. You change from being wrong, unsuccessfully busting your ass, learning. Same with any promotion. Good lecture. Valid and truthful points. You still gotta run the gauntlet. I wish it was as easy as hearing another person say this.
