The bill of T.E. Lawrence could be forged. Further investigation (no dye in paper, age of the ink?) necessary.

I remember removing multiple layers of wallpaper in my Edwardian terraced house in Liverpool. In the kitchen we uncovered a mural of a fantasy sea scape. Treasure Island, with a galleon, filled one whole wall. The wife made me paint over it!

Amazing. I'm watching a short on KZfaq about an episode of Antiques Roadshow in the UK and the top comment is boilerplate anti-American bullshit. The pettiness of some people is astounding.

I love pewter. When I was a teenager living in Germany I used to go to the flea markets every Saturday. I bought a lot of pewter. It was so cheap. Then I bought tins. Then I bought old linens, some from France. I have a lot of collections.

Today £60,000 divided by 160 paintings/drawings, is only £375 each. Just doesn't seem like enough for a renowned artist. I'm thinking she was underwhelmed, because she expected a much higher amount.

I look back at these shows and everything they value is completely incorrect… The BBC experts were just awful, That collection back then should have been valued at £215,000 pounds, But into today’s value 2024 its over £500,000 if not more .

An early episode of the American TV series "Pawn Stars" also features a brooch which was recognized as being made by Faberge. The owner had originally wanted $200 for the brooch but then raised the price to $400 when she heard of the maker. The pawnbroker replied, "I'd love to pay you $400 but I could never live with myself - I'll pay you $14,000.".

Such ornate "scrap" wood! I think I'd take all the panels out and display them, and make new drawer bottoms. But what a pieve of history in the making of that furniture.
