What ever happened to collecting. Kind of sad to just look for stuff you can grade to sell and make money. That isn't a "hobby" you are turning it into a job which is fine if its your job. But grading is fucking stupid. People grade everything now and it is dumb as fuck. Graded cards are the absolute worst. Takes up too much space, cant see refractors as well, and it's just a waste of money. Put your cards in a mag loader and call it a day. Unless it's like a 5k+ card that needs authenticated and stuff then sure, grade it. But grading sub $1000 cards is a waste of everybodies time. Im sure some people like slabs but I absolutely loathe them. If you want to protect cards fine but screw grading, it has ruined the hobby completely. Everything does not need to be slabbed up, safe it for special cards.

I have a lot of sports cards but I'm just now thinking about selling for profit. With all the different brands of cards how do you know which is the best to buy, ungraded, to sell for profit after getting them graded?

A lot of the shows in my area are steering away from percentage sales. I’m seeing more sales closer to sticker or a little above comp. Some dealers have been saying “I don’t do the percentage of comps thing” and still selling at sticker or a few bucks cheaper.

TRUMP card 💯

Thank you I completely forgot about my Jordan collection I started in 1989 and stopped in 1996 I put them in a trunk and they were in my attic. I couldn’t have told you what cards I had but now looking I have 5 different MVP cards, several Rookies but none of the 1986 only several 1993 with same picture but gold and silver remake anyway I have seen some of these sell for thousands of dollars and couldn’t have found them at a better time I’m in the middle of building a new house and warehouse because of new local ordinance’s that requires me to have 5 acres of land to operate a home based contractor company despite having operated one for 17 years out of my current home. Anyway I wasn’t sure I could complete the construction and was concerned with how I would get the money but I have it now thanks again if you know the best way to sell them please let me know I have an eBay store but never sold cards before and feel like there’s got to be a better place to sell gem Micheal Jordan cards. Also I have his Wizards cards and I’m pretty sure every baseball card made for him including his Rookies and MVP is there a market for those I’m not finding anything about the non-Bulls or USA team cards.

As a long time collector, the gambling in the industry has gotten out of hand. I recall when no one even bought football cards and only some basketball in the recent past. Now you have unproven players being purchased at crazy levels only to try and flip to the next unknowing sucker. This crash will be fun to watch
