I’m in year 9 and starting in July would you be able to choose the expedition straight away or do you have to do the other 3 first

This video makes me really excited, I'm just starting my DofE, I don't think I'll be doing the expedition until next year but I'm super excited already :3

our dofe was so different to this.. we had no music so we played sports and we had to carry much bigger bags then you!!! I had to walk to my destination with a 60L bag on my back!! ouchhh

caitlin everson No yours wasn't that different actually! Yes, we had music, but we also played sports and games (I just didn't film them) ;) Also, my bag was 75L haha so they weren't very different in reality! :D

Awesome :3 Alex was technically in another group ;) our school split all of the groups into 2 larger groups, so groups 1-5 (or something like that) did it one one weekend, and the other groups did it on a different weekend :) Alex was away when his group did their practice, so he did it with us :) He said that he enjoyed our group more than his one though ;)

Do you have any advice for the expedition? I've got mine next week and want to make sure it doesn't turn out like the practice one!

Our aim was to 'take photos of the natural environment' :P Basically make sure that you drink a lot, try not to get lost so plan where you are going to walk by looking at the map and anticipate what you're coming up to! Other than that, do it with a group of great people and you should have an awesome time! (Although make sure you're ready for all weathers!) :D I will ask Tom if he was at that debate :)
