Hi Christine. I have Type 2 Diabetes but I "do not" have kidney disease. I'm interested in your video about Oxalate because I want to "prevent" from getting kidney disease. You said almond & soy has oxalate. I drink almond milk & don't drink "regular" milk because of it's "high sugar" content. Since almond has oxalate, what "alternate" option do I have? Your response is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Melanie, Thanks for reaching out. You could try a coconut milk beverage.

Hi how are you? Thank you so much. I came across a video showing how to use egg shells to scrub pots and also find out I could use it for calcium intake. I never knew anything about this. I’ve never heard anyone talked about using eggshells for calcium intake and I search KZfaq and came across your video I will definitely be doing this I do buy farm raised eggs so I know I’ll be getting the maximum calcium intake that I need from those shells. Thank you so much for your video. I appreciate it. God bless you and keep them coming, have a blessed day❤

Most natural food stores carry them. I’ve sometimes seen them in pharmacies and at Walmart.

If you do this washing for all shells, makes a lot of water. Do the water in the sinck and drop the eggshells in it. A very bit of salt makes all durt comes off. Take them out dry them in the oven and grind them. You use way to much water in the video.

would think, if one added a drop of oregano oil, a drop of tea tree, and a drop of peppermint, you wouldn't have to worry about spoilage.
@ChristinesNaturalKitchenАй бұрын
That’s an idea but I haven’t tried it. I don’t know if, even in small amounts, the oregano oil and tea tree oils could be irritating to the nasal passages.

Thank you for the video - I recently ordered a sharpening set similar to yours, but was afraid I'd ruin my knives. Ive only ever used one stone or my chef's choice sharpener. Another detail you might add is that before sharpening a Japanese knife, check to see whether the blade is single or double-beveled. A double-beveled blade ( I believe nearly all Santokus are such) would be sharpened just as you expertly showed. A single- beveled blade is sharpened differently, although I dont know what the procedure is. I ruined a very nice Sushi knife because I was not aware. If you are familiar with that technique, I would love to learn how it is done!

Tx for sharing. I use a Homemade Saline Rinse with "No" Iodine Salt & Baking Soda. I will give this "Spray" a try with Sea Salt. There is a Difference between a Saline "Spray" & a Saline "Rinse." As far as my Research has shown, using any type of Essential Oils should be used Via an Inhalation Route, like Steam & not be put into the Nostrils 👃🏽

I feel like there's something to it. Oxalate can't be toxic in itself if so many healthy foods contain a high amount of it.

I know, it’s hard to believe. Fortunately there are ways to balance it a bit by consuming calcium at the same time and drinking lemon water.

Check Your Math...Each gram of eggshells provides between 380-400mg of calcium. A teaspoon hold @ 5 grams. 5 grams = 5000 mg The Maximum amount of calcium needed by adults is 2000 mg and too much calcium can be bad for your health. The average amount needed by adults is @ 1000 grams per day. About 1/4 tsp per day would be about right by my math.

@@annetnawoova9226 You're welcome and here is a little more. Do Not peel out or rinse out the membrane after removing the egg from the shell as posted by others. The membrane is full of Collagen and other Proteins plus more beneficial Nutrients. Simply clean the egg shells with vinegar / water or other cleaning methods, then use the eggs and freeze the shells. After a couple of days in the freezer, I crush the shells, keep them in a large Glad bag back in the freezer. I use most of them in my homemade broth and grind some into a very fine powder in my Blendtec, ( super fine and no tamping needed ) to be added to drinks or recipes.

I have a pretty severe deviated septum, and I’m not a fan of surgery. (Had it for about 20 years now I think) I used nasal sprays for about 16 years, and now my nose no longer creates mucus (or not enough to feel any sense of moisture) I struggle to breathe constantly! I obviously realise I need surgery, but… after speaking to an ENT/ETN specialist, she put me right off, and made the surgery sound like I was gonna be having open-heart surgery. Would a saline solution offer any relief for a damaged nose, that has been very severely damaged by long term over the counter nasal spray?
@ChristinesNaturalKitchen2 ай бұрын
Sorry to hear that you’re going through that. I hope things improve. I would think that homemade saline solution would offer some relief but I’m not sure. It might be worth a try for a few days while keeping in touch with your doctor about everything.

Very well done video, and the recipe sounds delicious, but a few comments. 1. Professional chefs always break eggs on the counter, not a bowl. Much easier. 2. When I cook this, which I call ancestral beef, I turn it after one minute, then press down with a fish spatula to release more fat, because they are so sticky and hard to work with. Then cook them 3-4 minutes on that side and turn and finish cooking on the first side (pressing down on both sides with the fish spatula) 3. Everywhere I read it says you have to cook ground beef with organ meat in it to a higher doneness than regular burgers. So I'm not sure your comment about how to cook them is safe. 4. Feel free to delete this comment!

At the moment my mother does not have any type of disposal, they have broken. But since you recommend turning the eggshells into powder and instead of an oven I have a microwave, I can also put the Shells there? And how long? Please help me, this is important to me, I exercise and I want to add this eggshell calcium.

I’ve never tried using a microwave but I’m not sure if that would have the same result. The aim is to dry them out thoroughly. What about an electric dehydrator instead?

How should I use the end product? Edited: I mean I'm terms of bread and what not. My family has a history of calcium deficiency and I'd like to know recipes for foods,etc. I have so many questions!
@ChristinesNaturalKitchen2 ай бұрын
You can just mix it into a little applesauce or yogurt to consume it. I haven’t tried incorporating it into recipes as it has a gritty texture so I’m not sure how that would work out in the end product. Plus if you add it to a recipe like bread you won’t know how much you’re getting. If you measure it out and add it to applesauce you can have a more precise amount.
