Wow, mine seems to be a much better set and I've had only 1 or 2 problems. I have many others I like as well, but different pencils are handled differently and you make no allowance for that.

I'm from Portugal and here 150 Prismas cost over 250 EUROS! It's very very expensive and for me, as a beginner is hard to see many tutorials using nothing but primas.. and we know the laydown of these pencils does not compare to any other brand, so you end up getting lost in the tutorials 😢 Ofc I have to mention the "get all the pencils" monster hammering away in my head about them 😅

Not pronounced ’basewood’ “a” as in “apple” or “ass.”. b-ass-wood. It’s a common hardwood tree, soft and light, consistent nice grain.

I Am not sure if I missed it. But when I searched on dutch art supply website for the 100 set, the description said that the skin tone set, and the pastel/neon set where both part of the 100 set. The only set that is not a part of the 100 set is the set of 12 metallics. But do you have all of the skin tones 3 times now?? Are all the skin tones part of the 100 set?? I feel confused... 😬

Forgive my brief comment, but it sounds like your experience mirrors my own over the last year. I’ve been chatting with Connie over at colouring chemist (KZfaq) due to these issues. To cut a very long story short CC gave me the same info and explanations as you, they were good and did replace all the open stock that didn’t work dozens several in each colour. Interestingly I too have an extensive collection of classiques old body same as the single blender you gave that all work fine , along side some 5 year old illustrators that work find to the point of brilliance colour chips on the classique, just don’t have colour names, which is frustrating at someone with with colour limited vision 😂😂😂. However the pens are great Copic ohuhu comparable. Things have totally gone down the pan since the new website, I optimistically ordered a 36 set of illustrator on sale (which did work) But as you point out refills abd open stock disappeared pending an update, I spoke to CC today given the amount of cost investment, to be told they can’t tell me if the rebranded refills and markers will be compatible with what I describe as legacy products, or whether they will follow the also relaunched colorista line, old name aimed at colourists new tombow style pen, which I also bought on mega sale they are very good but reuse old colour names for totally different colours e.g. pastal rather than vivid tones. The lady also said they’d be launching in summer so less than three months, but they at the uk end gave no idea what orifices will do, compare to or look like, even though we’ve all spent hundreds of £££, she was apologetic, but that’s not good enough for an end. Consumer, neither is letting the design team know, I bought the markers as a Copic uk based (design) comparable product, it now looks like I have a giant heap of single use markers, that I will have to recycle when the few refills I have run out 😔. Sorry for the not so brief rant but I’ve become increasingly annoyed over the last 6 months with the pr strategy and communication at CC, not customer service but the actual marketing strategy and communication. If you’re discontinuing a project, be honest about it, don’t wait till people bought extra on sale or replacements thinking it was an odd defective marker to then go. Sorry, we pulled the product from production, let people save their money and wait for the new launch product (I’m very sceptical about anything new to do with these markers now, which is a real shame, as I love supporting a UK based company) . As mentioned, I now own the ohuhus, post-Black Friday sale, as well as a moderate collection of copics. Which I bought, as they were the only refillable option available at the time. As an aside, when refilling a marker, with clear alcohol, or a refill, always pull the chisel nib, if it has a brush nib option drip the product down into the nib, slowly filters down into the core. I’m thinking of trying the olo markers next, very expensive, but ohuhu don’t yet offer a full range of refills, and olo is a pure ink half cartridge so equates to ten illustrator style marks as the refill is all liquid.

I hope that prismacolor never eliminates their metallic gold and silver (their bronze is a regular color, not a metallic) or neon pencils because I love using them! The prismacolor gold is, I think, the most realistic gold out there. The neons are wonderful for injecting light into a drawing, note: a good example is that lion drawing on one of the pencil kits for a very fancy example. In my everyday journal I use neon pencils to draw a sun if it is sunny that day and enjoy the color pencil practice of drawing spheres with the prismacolor neons. I have found that after watching/listening to utube videos on color penciling for almost 14 years, we have a tendency to think if we don't use it then maybe others don't either. I know there are others who say get rid of the neons and metallics, but I try and put it out there that some of us love and use them on a regular basis. I agree with prismacolor going downhill when the company changed hands back in around 2012, I believe. It really is a shame cause prismacolors before all the utube coloring hoopla began, were the creme de la creme of the art world in America. There weren't many options, certiainly not hundreds of sets of cheaper pencil sets available today back then. It seems the core of prismacolors are still pretty much the same, but the wood they use is just awful! It has been common practice for some time now that when any kind of company changes hands, they are most likely to make some undesirable changes in order to save $$ usually. It's like they have to "learn their lesson"--if they ever choose to--that they should not try to make those changes because they will alienate their original customers.

The trick for off center ones is to wrap then in towel, then a heating pad around them on med- high for 15-20 mins. Let them cool, it will take a while. You are now good to go! It softens the wax just enough so even if it's off center it is now adhered to the wood casing and you should stop get that tip that keeps falling out of the pencil when you sharpen. Hope this helps someone!!

Pro markers are a good brand. and i keep them upright. I never had an issue. But spectrum noir just dont last.
