Because of this video I can now take my pocket operator thirty three And shove my recorded music into koala sampler for equalizing and trimming. Thus eliminating the need for a daw. So between my 40$ phone and 70 dollar (on sale) pocket operator 33 I can make music while I'm bored at work. No thousand dollar midi or thousands of dollars in vst plug-ins needed and I get the bonus of making music anywhere. Thank you sir. I really appreciate this.

Hi Michael! Thanks for your videos :) any idea on how to replicate the skipback function of the sp404mk2 ? I don't have an idea on how to always record the last 2min of audio and be able to grab it if needed. thanks!

Your comments about people wanting an 'easy instrument that plays chords and scales to make them look cool' just about sums it up. The £1,669 Push 3 'Chopping Board' cannot use Ableton's arrangement view or run 3rd party free VSTs but my £69 Ableton LIve Intro, PC version can (this is not cool, IMO). Thank you Michael for GAS Therapy. 🙂

Love this video. You have created a new nickname for the MPC One, 'The Shoebox'. Maybe this is for people who want to create music with real 'sole' (soul). Sorry, I couldn't resist that one😁. You're very funny.🤣

You're right, Roland give-away their drum kit sounds (with tweakable parameters) and a ton of other classic sounds for free with Zenology Lite. I also use the free Drum Machine Selector Kit that I found in Ableton Live Lite's drum category. It allows you to select the 909, 808, 707, 606 etc with just a single click. Handy if you want to hear what your drum patterns sound like with different kits, without loading the kits individually. Keep up the good work. 🙂

I bought and returned one of these on sale. It definitely takes some getting used to, and isnt for everyone. But if you adjust your arm and wrist, its unexpectedly good like any other Strat. For me, for my arm and wrist positions when standing and sitting, I just couldnt get it comfortable with a pick. Finger picking was the most comfortable.

I think the point of hardware trackers is the fact that it gets you away from the laptop and helps you focus on quick ideas without distraction. They can also be possibly more reliable because they aren't affected by viruses. Plus they spark inspiration when using them because they are very attractive looking. Like a flying v guitar, or orange amps, it makes you want to make music. It's art and artists love art. It's like brushing your teeth without a good toothpaste. If the toothpaste tastes bad, you wont want to brush your teeth as much. As a matter of fact, one of the biggest reasons tooth paste was invented was to get people to keep brushing their teeth. That's why hand soap that has a scent or foams up makes people wash their hands more. Do you need to buy a hardware tracker? Nah. This channel is a perfect guide to save you money when you cant afford to. But if you have more than enough money, sure. I own an SP404mk2, and I love it to death. It is a sound palette and a playground for my ideas. I feel like I am playing a guitar or drums, but with bleeps and bloops. That's my opinion anyways.

100% true. Earlier I thought that drum pads are perfect, but now I realized how important velocity is. My drum loops sound much better with different velocity for the snares, and a keyboard can control that velocity much better. When using Koala without controller (or Pocket Operator), upload the same drums with different velocities, and you're good to go.

I've tested my controllers with my Android tablet (USB MIDI mode, activated at developer settings). Results: - Akai LPK25 MK2 (no external power supply): working - old 49 key Roland keyboard (with external power supply): working - 16 pad controller (with external power supply): not working So it seems like Android has trouble with pad controllers.

MIDI has 1.0 and 2.0 standards, and ATM only 1.0 is supported by Android. The Synido pads are MIDI class compliant, so they work without special driver on my Linux PC. I guess Synido uses MIDI 2.0, which is supported by Linux, but not by Android. Maybe that explains why some controllers don't work on Android.
