I’ve become more and more sensitive to noise these past few years. I’m always drained of energy after being out in the noise of crowds or cities too . And certain music I can’t listen to. Such an interesting content, thanks Margaret 🥰🕊

Very interesting analysis of the exposition of this piece, and certainly gives food for thought when listening to the rest of it. I believe any music can be enjoyed from a purely abstract musical perspective, but at the same time it can be rewarding to analyze it and think about its extramusical meanings. That so much of Beethoven's music seems to express triumph over struggle makes it so inspiring.

Integrating Beethoven’s Appassionata sonata and Rocky - a bold and insightful approach. Definitely make me to appreciate this piece (a very famous piece of Beethoven’s compositions) from a very different perspective. Also, Margaret, hearing you say “Transformation is a decision” - it is so true, such a golden phrase. Thank you! 🙏

The story at beginning is simply incredible and unreal. Yet, it is all real, as the rest of the episode. It is soul searching and cleansing session, and it is a true blessing to hear the wisdom of Margaret who articulated the music, history, philosophy, religion in one enjoyable session. Looking forward to next week’s episode.

Very useful information, but the autofocus on the camera is a massive distraction. The camera keeps shifting from your face to your reflection and in some places it's impossible to see your fingers properly. I would get rid of the mirror behind you, then I would use fixed focus on your fingers.

@@MargaretWacyk My favorite composer is JS Bach. He was the first composer I got into when I was a teenager, and although I love all kinds of classical music, I always come back to him as my favorite.

You are right, angling the hand differently like that when the thumb goes under will slow anyone down in piano, that's why no one teaches to play that way. There is so much tension in your hands. :( Look how tightly you hold your fifth (pinky) fingers. When not playing, they should be resting quietly on the keys, not held up tensely against your palms. First, no high-level teacher ever teaches a student to angle the hand differently when the thumb goes under, and doesn't teach rotation during scales, either, as that produces unevenness in tone and is simply unnecessary extra movement. Time for more piano lessons, my friend. Choose your teacher wisely.
