And it has a charge controller which is important.... I was starting to have a heart attack when I didn't see a charge controller. I've seen some electric pontoon boats burn down due to over charging. I was going to do something like this to the brown GMC Suburban... but its dead and in the junk yard. (The reason why I wasn't at any events last summer.)

Yes, and a good observation. A charge controller is another item that is critical in the solar daisy chain. I have several and was too lazy to grab one.

What a trip. One heck of a long night digging your car out with little to no sleep after we found a spot to sleep due to all the canon fire.

I do want to take a moment and point out that you should never run a 12v compressor strait off a battery or a car that is not running. A 12v compressor needs a supply voltage of 13.8 volts for 12-volt model or it could damage it.

Yes, I did exactly that, a 1/4 sized threaded pipe from Home Depot, about 2" long. Tapped the new EGR connector/adaptor, used thread lock.

Did you tap the egr adapter nut on the inside to fit a 1/4" NPT threaded pipe? Interesting way of fixing it and it looks like it should hold for awhile.

@umpty

The idea is to use what the yard gives you, we found a contractor van with Ethernet cable and wire. Used that to tie parts together. Many people use seatbelts as straps. All part of the 60 for 60 show.

When the windows fogged up and I couldn't see where I was going, I was thinking this is no fun! Now that its been a week: getting lost, getting towed out of a mud hole, and driving in a thunder storm were the only things I remember. Also, fixing the Jeep with a pine tree. @@johnlight460 lots of ways you can do it, depends on year of your car also. If your looking for something pre-engineered look at LiftaBrand. or Universal car lift brand donk kits. Note with the Lincoln Town car you will have to install a coil spring kit with longer shocks to replace rear air suspension.

You guys truly do have a lot of money wrapped up in this car. I cant blame you as its your first time to the event and you will be riding in style as well as have a car that will last forever but the true sprite of the gambler is to be gambling. Either way you are going to have a great time at the event and are already enjoying one of my favorite times... hanging out with friends building cars.
