that transmitterchip is crap polluting the fm band
@DarronBirgenheier
@DarronBirgenheier 9 ай бұрын
This chipset may well create spurious emissions, but in my particular use case, the very short range of the transmitter, as shown (NO external antenna attached, plus the very low power of the transmitter), plus the very nearly empty FM band in my little town means there's essentially zero chance of interfering with any commercial FM broadcast service.

WHAT WAS THIS - THE TITLE SAID TRANSMITTER, THE VIDEO SHOWED A RECEIVER, THE AUDIO TALKED ABOUT 15 CHANNELS, MOST POWERFUL..... SINCE WHEN DOES A RECEIVER HAVE "POWER"? WHY WOULD I WANT TO BUY A TRANSMITTER THAT BROADCAST AN FM SIGNAL IN THE DESIGNATED COMMERCIAL FM BRAODCAST BAND? WHAT???????????
@DarronBirgenheier
@DarronBirgenheier 9 ай бұрын
The transmitter is shown at 0:06 The transmitter is getting getting electrical power and audio from the computer via the USB connection on the side of the transmitter. The audio heard is from the green FM receiver. The audio is just what happened to be playing on my PC at the moment- the KZfaq video shown at first, with the narrator talking about a portable two-way radio.
@DarronBirgenheier
@DarronBirgenheier 9 ай бұрын
Transmitting on the FM broadcast band allows the use of common FM receivers to hear what you're transmitting. If the transmit power is low enough, this is legal to do in the US and elsewhere. Transmitting on the FM band at higher power for more range isn't legal without a license, but if one transmits on a clear channel, you're unlikely to raise the ire of the FCC or other enforcement agencies. In the small rural town where this video was recorded, there are only one or 2 commercial FM stations that can be reliably picked up on a typical portable radio, so there's loads of "clear air" in the band in which to transmit one's own signal.

I haven't measured the power draw of this kettle, but it is rated at a full 3,000 Watts. This is very voltage-dependent, of course, so this number will be lower or even higher than the rating, depending on voltage at a specific location.@@chrismitchell6478
@DarronBirgenheier
@DarronBirgenheier 11 ай бұрын
I had the kettle powered in a temporary (and NOT safe) way, by plugging the kettle's British-spec BS 1363 plug into a matching IoT switch (not shown here), which was plugged into the BS 1363 extension cord that IS shown here. The extension cord's plug was removed, and replaced with a crappy Chinese-made NEMA 14-50P plug, which was plugged into a matching 240V receptacle on the power pedestal next to the old camper that I was living in at the time this video was made. The camper itself was entirely powered by a single 30-Amp 120V feed from the same pedestal. The dual-pole breaker in the pedestal that protected the NEMA 14-50R receptacle that the plug was in was a 50A one, a MUCH higher rating than the usual 13A fuse or breaker used with a BS 1363 plug. I could have swapped out the breaker with a dual-pole 15A one, and I even had them on hand at the time, but didn't bother...

A neighbor with a large 4WD pickup will be moving it for us soon. I used the little Hombre to shove the dolly under the trailer, and while it was there, decided to try moving it, just for giggles. I "caged" the air brakes on the trailer, so it will roll freely when towed by a vehicle not equipped with air brakes. The empty trailer weighs perhaps 18K, and the dolly another 3K or more. The trailer has been there long enough that the huge tires have settled a bit into the soft ground, so it will take a bit of a yank to get it moving, but my neighbor is confident. It will be going to a spot that we gravelled.

Random question... Do you know of any other places they put a vin# plate on the genesis besides the sticker on the header panel above the drivers seat?? I know the vin is correct on that sticker, but it is old and faded, there has to be a metal riveted vin plate somewhere. I know it isn't in the windshield. I was told on the dog nose buses there was a vin under the hood on the firewall, and a vin on the frame by the drivers side wheel. But I looked everywhere on this one and cannot find any vin plate except the sticker that will eventually wear out, there has got to be another, online searches didn't help much, but did lead me here. any help appreciated, thank you.

What happens at the end?
@DarronBirgenheier
@DarronBirgenheier 3 жыл бұрын
I stopped the video at that point because I had to run and grab some "cribbing" (large blocks of wood) to place temporarily under the bottom side rails of the container, a couple of meters from the end. I stack them high enough to place the container end somewhat higher than level. Then I build up a gravel base under the corner boxes of the "hovering" end of the container, and lay a railroad tie between the gravel and container, gradually lowering the container with a hydraulic jack until it sits level on the railroad tie ("crosstie" in some other countries). In cases where I'm placing a container temporarily, I will have the driver pull the trailer nearly out from under, then place a RR tie right on the ground under the corner boxes. The back edge of the trailer is tipped down until it's JUST over the RR tie, then the driver moves forward, dropping the container more or less right on the tie.
