Imagine this In 4 years, we could pay demigod 12M$/y, and our core 4 (suzuki slaf caufield demidov) would still cost <35M$. That would be one of the most cost efficient core 4 in the entire league. At that price we could buy auston matthews with no salary retained (13.25M$) and still cost less than the leafs core 4 currently costs (48.5M$) Im not saying we should, its just a figurative to give you an idea how cheap this core 4 is salary wise

They really need to protect the players, having them play a full season in some cases in the AHL would make them hungry and add a layer of competition for spots in the line up. It is important to get these guy`s used to doing moves and not be afraid of trying new things. The more they do things, muscle memory takes over and before you know it they are pulling off things in the NHL at speed that you never would of thought capable of them.

I am an older fan, so, my passion is like the burning red hot ember, in the back of the fireplace. You guys are the bright firing flashes of a new log on the fire. I believe more or less the same happened with mitchkow and philly... maybe there was something like that with demidov too :D I am so hyped for habs future :D holy moly... if you compare the potential that we thought in 22-23 season and how bright the future looks now, its day and night

@alainbelso
@alainbelso Ай бұрын
Any trade is possible but I see many of these trades as unlikely. I personally like Necas but I feel there's still some bad blood between the Habs and Canes. Laine is too sensitive to play in Montreal and Zegras is also temperamental. I don't see Toronto trading Marner to Montreal because if that blows up on them, someone is TO is going to get crucified.. I reiterate, nothing is impossible and I see the positive of there 4 guys. If they ever get traded to Montreal, I won't be surprised but at the same time, I see it as unlikely.
@THEFIX709

I love how we talk about Zegras as solid sized cause he's 6 foot, and people say Suzuki is undersized, Suzuki weighs 25 pounds more than Zegras and is 1 inch shorter. Suzuki is so much more solid. Everyone just looks at height but 185 is undersized, not 210. Hockey people are like women, if you're 6 foot you're tall and if you're 5'11" you're short lol.
@THEFIX709
@THEFIX709 Ай бұрын
I don’t think Suzuki is undersized. I don’t think he’s big, but he doesn’t play a small game. Cole is undersized and I think a few players like that is fine. I do think that with Cole and Lane in the line up moving forward the Habs will be wary of adding another undersized player to their top 6. I feel like Zegras was getting included in the undersized category and at 6 feet I don’t think he fits that bill. While not big, like Suzuki he isn’t small, though as you say he is slighter! Thanks for listening!

@@THEFIX709 I think Cole is bigger then people give him credit for, he's short for sure, he's only 5 foot 7, MAYBE 5'8??? But he's 175-180 lbs, that's stocky af, at that size!

If I was the manager and wanted to find a trade I would look to the teams that underachieved. So Ottawa Calgary and New Jersey and Seattle dropped off last year. IMO right now Guhle would be a big trade chip he is really only an average player but some managers might over rate him and give us a strong player back in return. Some mentioned Dawson Mercer I like the idea . The problem is that I don't really like many of the players on the losing teams rosters which is why they are losing teams.However we have too many defensemen we really should try and move 1 or 2 of them.

top 3 Habs prospects right now 1- Hutson 2- Reinbacher 3- Beck
@toddlauretteHabsFan
@toddlauretteHabsFan Ай бұрын
@@malakaspawt3190 Reinbacher shouldn't be in that list, lol, why does everyone think he's so good?? What do u see in him? Have u honestly watched him play? Like whole games, not just highlights?? Because ive watched him A LOT. We should be celebrating Michkov showing up, instead we have reinbacher in Laval, with the D we already have, he's a bottom pair defender at best. He's not better then Hutson, Mailloux, Matheson, even Xhekaj is more exciting then reinbacher, not to mention the other 7 or 8 D we have. I dont see what everyone else sees in the guy. I wish i could, and get excited about him, i just hope we trade him. We didnt need a defenseman, and still dont, we have too many now, but let's draft one in an offensive filled draft, especially when we cant put the puck in the net. Dont argue that please, we r bottom of the league in almost every stat. Things are looking up tho, hopefully they draft an offensive beast this year, and trade some of the access D for a goal scorer, just not PLD please... Maybe Necas, even Zegras, him and Caufield are pretty tight!! He'd fit right in the line up too, he's the perfect age.
@malakaspawt3190
@malakaspawt3190 Ай бұрын
@@toddlauretteHabsFan Zegras and Caufield together would be nice for sure, but they would need a bigger guy on the LW that can match their speed to add some size and body checks to that line. Maybe someone like Slafkovsky? I wouldn't touch PLD even with 10 feet pole. He is overrated and overpaid. The Habs fafans wanted to trade Suzuki for PLD a few years back. 🤣 There's a lot of Ds with safe floors in this draft, but the Habs are picking 5th so they need to swing for a high ceiling homerun, not a safe floor. I don't think the Habs are going to draft a D with their 5th overall. Celebrini, Demidov and Lindstrom will be off the board, so the Habs will probably pick one of the following guys; Catton, Iginla or Sennecke. Which forward would you like them to pick? I can't argue on the point that MTL needs more offense because it's true. They've been a defensive team for the last 45 years! Kent Hugues was out of luck last year at the draft. Except for Michkov, all the A+ and A forwards were off the board (Bedard, Carlsson, Fantilli and Smith). Michkov told the teams he wouldn't come over, or else the Habs would have picked him for sure. If that isn't true then they made a terrible choice. That sucks for MTL, Michkov was clearly the best available. It's still early for Reinbacher, but I don't see a 1 or 2 in him, I see his high end ceiling like a 3 on a contender team in a best case scenario but I don't see it happening. Worst case scenario; he ends up a 5 or 6, but I doubt it. I think he can floor at a 4 as a 2way D. It still hurts that they picked him so I hope that he's going to be a lot better offensively than what I expect. He did pretty good for Laval in a few games. Roy and Mailloux should make the team, so I didn't put them in the top 3. We're overloaded in D, I don't see the Habs picking a D. Right now our projected top 5 in the future is Hutson, Guhle, Mailloux, Reinbacher, and Xhekaj. Barron, Engstrom and Struble are next in line. That's a big size D squad but only Hutson is really speedy, agile and mobile.

@@malakaspawt3190 I couldnt agree more on PLD, I wish they'd stop talking about him coming to Montreal! Makes me nervous, hopefully Hughes and Gorton are smarter than that! Also i agree if we had Caufield and Zegras on the same line, we'd need someone with some size, like Dach playing with them. I was so mad when they went with reinbacher, i would have loved either Michkov, or Ryan leonard, we could use a good physical player like Leonard too, dude hits people when HE has the puck! lol. Whenever i say anything negative at all about reinbacher, usually it's met with a bunch of hate. I have nothing against the kid, it's not personal! lol. It just doesnt make much sense to me why they'd go with a defenseman, when we already had (I counted 14, just off the top of my head!). It would have been awesome if we added Michkov, and this year we could get Yakenchuk! He's my favorite D in the first round. I love his size, and physical play. Tough to pass on a D that played 66 games, and had 30 goals and 41 assists, PLUS 120 pims!! Oh well, i do trust Gorton and Hughes, i really dont know what they were thinking with the reinbacher pick, maybe they will trade him, i doubt it, but anything can happen. Thanks for the comment man, most people when they reply to me, aren't so nice! lol, i guess a lot of people aren't ready to hear that their hero reinbacher isn't going to be Makar! lol. Have a good one, the draft is tomorrow, so excited!!!! GO HABS GO!!!
