Portugal would never embrace satanic symbolism like that 💀 (Portugal is one of the most incredible countries regarding secret societies, literally knights templars, freemasonry(✡️) also had a strong influence, its always been a fight between christian and occult forces, nonetheless a country that had incredible and scret information/knowledge, amazing history)

Spain invaded Portugal twice: The first, under the reign of Philip II, to assert his succession rights over the Crown of Portugal, against the supporters of the prior of Crato. It was part of the Spanish Monarchy for 80 years. The second, under the reign of Charles IV, due to French diplomatic pressure. After the conquest, Spanish troops immediately abandoned the territory, much to the chagrin of France. In general, Spain sought the annexation of Portugal through marriage.

Spain and Portugal also have different environments. The Iberian Peninsula is divided by mountains and arid highlands that are difficult to cross, which is why the Romans split the peninsula between the Province of Hispania in the east and Lusitania in the west. In the Middle Ages, there were many kingdoms in the region, but all of them recognized that they were affiliated in being part of old Hispania and sought to unify it, while many called themselves Rex Hispaniae. The County of Portugal, on the other hand, gained independence from the Kingdom of Galicia and ruled the area of the former Province of Lusitania, prosecuting the Reconquista independently from the other Iberian kingdoms while their language gradually diverged due to geographic separation. The two regions also correspond to the watersheds of the peninsula. Hispania contains the rivers which flow into the Mediterranean, while Lusitania contains the rivers flowing into the Atlantic. This has created an economic divide as well. In conclusion, Portugal and Spain hardly ever go to war because they are separated by a mountain range which divides their rivers and makes logistics very difficult for any army crossing them, while the two regions speak different languages for the same reason.

O problema começou no século XVII.

If Phillip IV of Spain (III of Portugal) was not so inept, we Iberians could still be living in a proper Union (with Portugal still separated from Spain, as any other arrangement would be impossible). But he blundered. Like it or not, we are brothers with the same grandfather (Pelayo, the victor of Covadonga). Read the new book 'Spice' by Roger Crowley - when the Portuguese and the Spanish were fighting over the Moluccas (the Spice Islands), both the Portuguese and Spanish were appalled when the allied natives of each side killed either the Portuguese or the Spanish. That was totally unacceptable. Only Iberians could kill Iberians! We were like those young brothers that fight throughout infancy. Now, older and wiser, we should deepen the relationship between the two nations.

Queen Isabella and Pope Borgia were buddies. The pope was from Aragon. The Pope would benefit from the spread of Christianity by both Spain and Portugal. This helped with getting the Treaty of Tordesilla. Portugal and Spain would have thrown money towards war when they both had the world to explore. The Portuguese are tough people and will rise to the occasion if they have to. Going back to 1385 King John I of Portugal beat up Castile earning their independence.
