Unreal. Everytime I stumble back to this show. How someone can have a voice like that and express themselves at that level. We are definitely lucky his recordings exist.

this recording from the first evening 6th July 1995 of the 2 fulled booked evenings at l'Olympia, Paris was given to me by a friend (who performed Jeff's songs for many years through tributes here and there in Paris) who was at the show but received the gig through american fans on a "cassette" ( tape) as at that time there was an intense exchange and "business" between different countries so when he converrft the tape (cassette) in mp3 and sent it per email I was so excited. I couldn't believe first what he wrote me when meaning he had the first Olympia full. It was 2006 or 2007, I don't remember so well. I gave him a bunch of other gigs (as I'm collecting these since that time ) to thank him for this Olympia one. I remember the first listening. "Dream Brother" ... Jeff's heavy very low voice and how he excused himself for his singing but very quickly he mastered his voice again for the other songs. This whole performance may have given some tracks for the official CD but it's difficult to know which ones. Jeff is very moving and you can feel it. The place, the history, the fact that J. Brown, E. Piaf and other of his beloved artists has performed there, made him feel very sensitive. My "Jewel Box" gigs were given and appeared here through uploadings, Sofia Noiti convert many in YT videos to share them with all the fans and now through Mercedes Beene on her blog and here, as I'm not so expert in creating YT videos. So for your pleasure enjoy this very special gig which was so special and important for Jeff.

speaking of that's all I ask particularly, there is a difference in the arrangement and how Jeff sings it in both full recording and the live album release. would if by any chance that the "that's all I ask" cover in the live album was taken from the july 7th show, as jeff performed two days at the same venue?

i’ve stumbled across many MANY versions of lover. some rare demos, other insane live performances, but I genuinely think this is one of his best objectively as well as personal favorite version. so dangerous listening to it because i inevitably stop longing for my lover and end up grieving jeff as if i knew him haha. we’re never getting talent like this again :/

Amazing. I was there too and stood outside his bus in the rain to meet him, which I did. Once inside, he actually introduced himself to me in the softest voice: " Hi, I'm Jeff. What's your name?"

I was at this show. It was one of the greatest shows I've ever experienced. I still remember the people I was with and the looks on their faces. I guess I had just turned 22. None of us had seen him live - just heard the record. You can say it was in my head, but I swear at moments during this show he appeared to be just barely floating above the surface of the stage. His presence was completely captivating on stage. It was absolutely amazing. I've been wishing to hear this show again for 29 years, so thank you!

I loved the Sin E revordings, I listened to them a lot at uni, circa 03, ive never heard this recording though. He's an unforgettable talent. Apparently he played my uni, guitar and a pint of Guiness; my friend knew Fran Healy (of Travis) who saw him (at QMU, Glasgow Uni.)

Where do I start? My daughter’s middle name is Grace. And here’s why…. I met him after his show at Belvoire Amphitheatre in Western Australia 1996. During the show he asked for a drag of a cigarette. He specifically said he didn’t want a whole smoke, just a drag. People were throwing packets and lit smokes. I took one out of my bag, lit it and held it up, not expecting him to take it, but he did. Looked me dead in the eye and thanked me with a nod and a wink. He had a few drags and gave it back. We touched hands 🥰 I smoked the rest of it and threw the butt away, immediately regretting that idiocy as I watched a girl who was behind me dive after it & put it in her purse. After the show I was standing at the stage waiting for friends and he came out to get some gear. He noticed me and said “hey, thanks for the smoke. Come for a beer?” So I did. I was 18 and not a fan girl… major regret 😂 He told me he’d watched that girl snatch up the butt and all he thought was how cool that I’d thrown it away in the first place. We had a couple beers together, chatting about the night mostly, he asked about me, I was too young to realise who I was talking to so I didn’t ask him what I wish I had. We spent probably 20mins together & I took off when I heard my friends calling me. Grace was an album that changed my life and meeting Jeff the way I did is forever my hearts greatest musical moment 💜💜💜
