I have a bunch of these but they all have yellowed (more brown actually), especially the straight vertical part of the cone. I've tried everything but nothing works so I guess UV has just turned the transparent plastic brown.

There in the Netherlands because there are still many LPS, because there are fogs because here in Greece there are extremely rare LPS that I have seen but they are really very few unfortunately most are LED and HPS and quite a few mercury lamps and some are also green-yellow from the weather

Nice lamp I like this particular purple light but it is bad for the eyes

will it work if i connect a 36w fluorescent ballast to a 35w low pressure sodium bulb and what if i connect a 80w high pressure mercury ballast to a 70w high pressure sodium bulb will it work or cause a problem?

I understand they’re replacing the street lights with LED ones, but it really I really don’t like seeing the old street lights go I love the designs and I’ve known them for years and I’m not really a big fan of the new designs

Super mooie armaturen ik woon in Drenthe en Hoogeveen had bordevol van deze armaturen maar met Sox Lamp wist nooit dat er een PL versie van was zo lijkt het net dat ie geretrofited is vandaar ook de Schréder TZS, Misschien keer leuk om daar nog 'n video van te maken en dat je die nog een keer aan je collectie kan toevoegen ;-)

I agree SOX lamps themselves aren't that more energy hungry than LED. But when you count in ballast loss and (often) old, dried out capacitors causing a bad power factor then SOX uses way more power. I've just tested a nearly new magnetic ballast with a good capacitor and a 55W SOX lamp and after an hour the power meter settles down to 72 Watts! I'm all for keeping SOX alive but if they keep using them they should also replace the old gear with electronic balasts.

My town has this type of street light, id say that SMD LED are way better, these poor LED bulb get cooked alive in an enclosed fixture, some of them fail after a few years, although it is an interesting way to preserve the old fixture and cut cost

Isn't the safest way to remove the wires by first removing the live, then neutral and last ground/earth? Seems like you left the live for last here.

Very nice idea. I'll have to start looking at changing some of my LED lanterns to run coloured LEDs 😁
