Nice pack, what material did you choose for this color ? After these few weeks, how satisfied are you of it's fit for fastback if you had the opportunity to do that ?
@garrethikes24 күн бұрын
Material is ultragrid. I've used it 9 days so far at varying weights from 10-22lbs. I am very satisfied with the fit and it is great for light loads/fast packs.

@@garrethikes Thanks. I wonder if it's still a go at 25-27lbs, I find it hard to be lighter for 3-5days trip...

@@stephaneboudreault8231 The max recommended load is 25lbs for both models, the 30L and 40L. I can confirm it definitely starts to get uncomfortable around 25lbs.

How tall are you? How did you decide on the 16 inch length and vest?
@garrethikes26 күн бұрын
About 5”6. I decided on 16 as it was the smaller I could find, and my other packs were always too large.

Thanks for showing off the new bag! Did you have to order the running vest straps separately, or do they come with the made to order packs? I didn’t see the option to add them to the order on the page where I was selecting measurements, so just wanted to make sure
@garrethikesАй бұрын
I had to order the pack and vest straps separately. Looks like now they come with them unless you select that you don’t need the straps. Should be under “strap size” right under “torso length”.

Those things for anchoring to the platform are brilliant. I have been to Frontenac around a half a dozen times and like the easy trails. The one drawback to me is how few private sites they have that get snapped up so quickly. Many sites have 2-4 sites only a stone throw from each other, but it is a fantastic place to learn backcountry camping and get a taste of it. Loved the video.

How does it work for camping and hiking there Garret? It’s a non operational park I think so is it just first come first serve like any crown landing camping or do you need to register somewhere? Enjoyed the video and keep making them
@garrethikes8 ай бұрын
Thanks! Yes it's non-operational so no registration needed, it's first come first serve. My QE2 Wildlands playlist has most of the campsites on the 19km loop, I'll for sure keep making them as my goal is to have a video of every campsite on the loop (all 13 of them).

@garrethikes Жыл бұрын
I filmed all the bag meals so whatever is in the video, about 1 per day? Tips for food - dehydrate your own meals its cheaper, lighter, tastes better, healthier. Bring high cal lightweight snacks like coconut, dark chocolate, almonds. And dont skimp on protein, add in jerky, bars, shakes, whatever you can. Try healthy carbs like dried fruit and definitely a few junky snacks for morale.
