The problem with Safety Catches is the name. All the safety catch on a shotgun does is to block the trigger. It does not block the firing pins, so the gun could still fire. People ignorant about safety (like this man) are seduced by the name, so they love to tell everybody to always use the safety catch. They usually love a bit of virtue signalling, particularly if it involves some ostentatious melodrama. In the video situation i.e., double gunning with a loader and a gun, you really need to understand what credible accident you are trying to prevent by using the safety catch and that needs to be balanced against the downside of getting someone to concentrate on using the catch, when their mental attention would be better directed at something important (from a genuine safety perspective). If I had a loader twittering at me about using the safety catch when double gunning, he would very quickly find himself banished from my peg.

I would try this tour again with a bit more time and a commentary in order that the viewer can understand what they are looking at. I have just fallen off my chair with dizziness.

If you've fired two shots you don't need to put the safety catch back on mate 😆

Put the gun to hand don’t make the gun turn off the birds to change over, you have to be close to do this. Cardinal sin never run out of cartridges, you can have Mr Magoo filling the air with lead and that’s his problem your a stuffer

28" barrels work fine for me.. Don't really need the excess weight that a 30" or 32" barrel brings.
@Theoriginalbigbrillo

Totally agree buddy, swinging a 32" barrel after about 200 carts gets proper heavy ;) I shoot semi-auto so , having a single barrel helps massively lol Not sure the trap shooting fraternity would agree with me though, get some proper funny looks when i turn up on the DTL Range with my Hatsan semi lol ;) Who cares its ALL FUN................................................

I'd suggest that if you're right handed to load with your right hand and hold the gun with your left. I'd also suggested standing closer to your 'gun' so that he doesn't have to turn towards you to swap guns, thus taking his eye of the birds. Don't be afraid to stand in close!

Gun shops in America have a better selection of guns because more guns are legal there than in the UK or anywhere else in the world no offense.

not anywhere else in the world but cetainly more so then th uk the cech republic gun shops have a better selection of guns then USA although it is harder to own a firearm in the cech republic in general then the USA its much easier and cheaper to obtain fully automatic weapons here is a link prahaexpat.blogspot.co.uk/2009/10/czech-gun-shop.html

Vlad Țepeș Okay, the gun shop that guy went to seemed better than a lot in the U.S. so you may be right on that occasion. But owning a firearm in the U.S. is a RIGHT whereas in the Cech Republic it's a PRIVILEGE. You have more security legally to own a gun.

great advice from a master shot ian ,one thing to mention maybe some time. when the birds are scarce not to think about your day of shooting and forget about the safety of the beaters aswell .i speak from my experience having a gun take a bird flying across the butts .the flash of the barrels told me to spin away from the shot but i was still hit by one stray heavy shot in the stomach.no penetration but a nasty sting. in the eye would have been a different story ,i was wearing glasses but the young child next me wasnt.by the way i was over a hundred yards away
