Wow while the blouse was on the manikin I weren’t sure if I liked the sleeves but when you had it on it’s gorgeous. Look forward to seeing the next top 😊

Thank you Carole for your informative you tube demonstrations on this model. I have been looking at purchasing a combination sewing/embroidery machine and have just purchased the Brother M308D from SewEssential. It is on offer at the moment too. Can't wait for it to arrive now :) xx

What a wonderful hack - I will give this hack a go on the next one I make. I made my first version out of a cotton voile which was perfect for our pre summer weather in Perth.

I love it 😍 it’s beautiful, sort of blouse/ top I would wear, beautiful fabric, yes love your wheel it’s a great idea, how’s your elbow/ arm doing? Xx
@AmberlillyshandmadeКүн бұрын
Great hack for neckline. I find a lot of tops are too low on me and I take up from shoulder. But I’m going to use your suggestion in the future 👍. And your sleeve hack is a great way to do it. I have seen this pattern before and thought it too fancy. But seeing it made up and worn makes a big difference. Well done x

Your top is very pretty but I think the ties would drive me nuts. I made a top with a large flounce on the sleeves and love how it looks but the flounce gets in the way.

It certainly is so much fun with grandkids and the simple things 😊 so glad you got the shorts sorted , and love the bag it’s such beautiful colours
@socarole66Күн бұрын
As you say, the simple things are definitely the best aren't they! That bag was such fun to make and what made it easy was the fabrics were already picked for me, I am useless at that 🤣, Thanks so much for watching Sandra and have a good week 🧵😊

Gorgeous blouse, Carole! I love it! So pretty and feminine! I have this pattern, and will def shorten the ties if I make it! 😘💗
@socarole66Күн бұрын
Thanks Andra! It came out so much better than the pattern cover thank goodness. Not sure if I have the length of the ties right yet so time will tell! 💗😘
@AndraMakes2 күн бұрын
I love your jazzy jumpsuit, Carole, and, fab save on the shorts! Your bag is so pretty! Bag linings typically become a smidge larger than the outer, and, a good way to “remedy” that, is to use a slightly larger seam allowance on the lining. That will help it be a little more snug. I knew your sweet granddaughter would love her doll! What a precious keepsake! Happy birthday to her! The first birthday is so special! I’m so glad you’re having some summer over there! I know you love it! 😘💗
@socarole66Күн бұрын
Thanks so much Andra. The problem with the bag lining was that it was way too short for the bag so I ended up making a larger seam allowance on the bag. I think perhaps the outer bag grew when I quilted it all. Next time I would do that first then cut the lining to match the outer I think. I can't believe Chloe is a year old and it is wonderful that the doll is a major feature in her play pen now! Summer has now gone, rain is back but never mind, only a couple of weeks to go before we head over the pond 🥰. xx💗

Thank you. I have narrow shoulders and not busty. I have been staying from some styles that I would like to wear. Sometimes I cut the smaller size for the shoulder and neck and lower the armholes.
@socarole66Күн бұрын
Thanks so much for your comments. I did dabble in lowering the armholes just recently with slight success. The problem for me is I very often use the smallest size in the pattern but if not, like you I try and grade down for the shoulder area. This trick works for me every time though. 🧵😊

This top turned out so cute - and flattering. I love the way it looks on you. I might give this one a try now that I've seen your version of it. Great hack to make a neck area smaller. That is always a problem for me, too. So I will give that hack a try. Thanks for the tip. The wheel of fabric fate is a lot of fun!

Thank you so much, like a lot of pattern covers, it didn't really sell the top did it! I really enjoy making these series of videos so I am glad you enjoy them too. 🧵😊

Brilliant! Love it. I’ve made this same top in a cotton. I don’t like the finish following the pattern, and I really don’t like having to iron the ties. You’ve inspired me to modify the ties. I think I’m going to fold back the extension and “tube it” like you explained and make short ties so that it almost looks like bows instead of tails that hang down. I hope that isn’t too confusing. I’m going to revisit this one in a viscose. Btw, I’ve made the one with the ruffles that run down the sleeve. I get the most compliments on that one. The ruffles are made “tube like” so that the wrong side of the fabric never shows.
@socarole66Күн бұрын
Hi Cindy, thanks so much for your comments. I really was disappointed in the pattern when I saw the idea for the finished ties, I am glad I took the time to change it. It would have been a quick top to make if I hadn't 🤣. I know for next time anyway. Hope you have success if you remake it. I was interested to hear about your ruffle success, maybe I shouldn't have been so quick to judge that one and have a go at it! 🧵😊

Hi Katrina, thanks so much for your kind comments. I thought I would go for plain sleeves but that fabric needed breaking up so I was brave! Time will tell on the ties... lets see how many meals they get dragged into 😆. Thanks for watching 🧵😊

Well, never say never, and you never know! The ties on the sleeves are such a cute detail and the top looks great in that fabric! I can't imagine the ties being longer, though, and I think you got them to the right manageable length for "real life." Now, on to the next turn of the wheel of fate...who knows what will happen...😯?!?
@socarole66Күн бұрын
I did say no originally to the ties didn't I 😆. It was so funny that I had the other more 'normal' sleeves ready to go in case I got scared! Time will tell on the length of the ties and how annoying they are for meals out etc. Thanks so much for watching...onto the next one!! 🧵😊

Carole, your video was great. The sound of the engines goes right through you. For 57 years I worked for a company that makes jet engines. I used to love to go to the air shows. Sending Light and Love that your elbow heals quickly and you are out of pain. ❤🙏❤
