I worked in a factory in the late 70's & early 80's. We were in the steel workers union. When I started, minimum wage was $2.75 per hr. Starting pay was $4.39 per hr. There was no getting ahead like that. Then a bunch of the single, younger people pressed most everybody else to reject the company's offer for the next contract so they could have a vacation. I would never go back to union again after that. I took a job with my wife working nights at McDonald's so we'd have a chance to get ahead. We were making almost $3 per hr working closing shift.😮

Shouting "Shame! Shame! Shame!", is a bullying tactic. It might have felt good in the moment, but i think it tends to harden the resistance by Management. Management was right to step away. And i question the recording.. given the closed room, Management very likely had a reasonable expectation of Privacy. That said, i hope both sides can find ways to work together to a positive result.

@azalago Sigh. It is about having effective & productive discussions. Trying to bully people tends to create animosity. Getting past and avoiding animosity is at the heart of conflict resolution. Conflict Resolution has win - win as a baseline goal. Win - Win between Labor & Management is in FACT the best path to the best outcome for patients as well.

ALSO. I have a fracture between my hip and pelvis. Extreme pain. This happened 5/5/23. We had no idea what was going on. I had a cortisone injection scheduled for 8/1/2023. Meaning if it worked, I had to wait 3 months in order to try the injection. The soonest MRI available was 7/1/23. TWO months after it happened. I had to use a walker and cane. I could hardly move. Unacceptable. I'm 52. What if I was in my 80s? This is OK to Kaiser to put their members, who make them TONS of money, in this much pain? Time to take action and time to arrest those who are in violation of the law. PERIOD.

Dave Regan is paid $300,000 a year!! More than the highest dues paying member!! He is not a healthcare worker and never has been!! He doesn't care about us!! If he didn't, he would not have our contract negotiations high jacked over his Allied Up registry and Futuro Health! Not one DUES paying member asked for this or voted to have this included in our contract!! We need liveable wages!! Asking for 7%,7%, 6.25%, and 6.25 is not going to help our situation. Having dues paying members in the same state and in the same union getting paid $10 or $15 dollars an hour less in SoCal under SEIU-UHW is not OK!! Dave Regan has been talking about us striking since 2021!
