How do you know when this should be changed? Or at what mileage/year point?
@AwkhuardVQ2 күн бұрын
It’s recommended to do the transmission, front and rear differential, plus the transfer case every 30,000 miles, but I do mine at around every 25,000 miles. Engine oil wise Nissan/INFINITI says 7500 miles, but I do mine every 5000 miles. If you’re not sure of the last fluid change then I would just change the fluids and use the mileage that it was changed at as a base line where to start.

thanks for your vedio, just replaced mine, the cover is so rusty, and can't be used anymore. is that ok to let the evap open without cover?
@AwkhuardVQ6 күн бұрын
Thank you! My cover is really rusty so I didn’t put it back on. It’s okay to drive the car without the cover. The canister might just get a little dirty quicker.

Could you just remove this part from the Car and drive without it?? What would be required for it??
@AwkhuardVQ17 күн бұрын
In theory you could, but it'll be very difficult because you would have to adjust the valves in the lower intake manifold to be in a perfected fixed position. Just enough to where it doesn't cut off air flow or let too much into the engine. Even if it that was possible the light would be present still nonetheless. I'll have to dig into this idea. Thank you.

I got 0456
@AwkhuardVQ18 күн бұрын
P0456 is a small evap leak. There's a technical service bulletin (TSB) for most INFINITIs. Google search "NHTSA MC-10152991-9999" it'll have a step by step on how to remedy the issue. Edit: Wording

Why did u have to replace it?

Originally my issue was P0455, as shown in my other video. The replacement had a lower mileage so I just ended up replacing the whole thing.

Are the crush washers all the same for the transmission - transfer case - and differential? So many superseding part #’s ;( Thanks for the videos man just in time as i recently picked up a 2016 ex37 too! 👍
@AwkhuardVQ27 күн бұрын
Thank you for the feedback and congrats on the car! For the 370GT/EX37/QX50 (not sure where you are in the world). - The copper crush washers (11026-JA00A) are the same on the engine and transmission drain plugs. - The front and rear differential uses the same aluminum washers (11026-4N200) for both the fill and drain plug. -The transfer case also uses the same aluminum washers (11026-1CA0A) for the fill and drain plug, HOWEVER, the transfer case washers do differ from the differential washers. - (Part numbers are from a USA market vehicle, so I'm unsure if its the same for international vehicles) Hope this answers some questions for you. Thank you!

Appreciate you, and bummer about all the rust. East coast? I'm in Colorado they don't use salt, just wondering. I feel like I stole this one. 3 mechanic shops couldn't figure out why a different mechanic screwed something, but a year of trying to figure it out with misfires allowing it to pump raw fuel out the exhaust, thus melting down the cats. 119k mile on a '08, great body, new tires. I just bought it $700. Gutted the old melted cat to let exhaust out and reinstalled, bought Amazon coils and plug for $80. still had weird misfire, then looked for coils that could have room to have to have accidentally been crossed. Sure enough, cyl. 1 & 3 had enough length that if not careful, they could be mixed up. Swapped the coil pug connectors, fired it up and misfire gone. Found cats 2 each side connected as one 1 unit each side, dirt cheep like $120 for all, easy swap. My girlfriend just scored bigtime. My health is shot from 45 years of fixing cars. can't breathe enough to walk 5 feet. 64 years at over 100 mph, going out just like when I came into this world screaming, but this time yelling "wow, what a ride."

Thank you! These are great vehicles, but are prone to rust especially when expedited by salt on the road, but these drivetrain are bulletproof with regular maintenance. I hope you guys enjoy your EX35 and also for better health for you also.

How did taking off the fender panel help you get to the broken bolt? Its not completely clear from the video what the gain from that was.

I guess it would be an optional step, but it was to give myself and the camera better view of the broken stud.

Excellent video, I can add one trick to save you from removing the muffler bracket and the 3 bolts. Slide a 1/4 drive extension in between the 2 spokes of the muffler bracket and then place your 10mm socket on the nut, connect the two tools and remove your nut. A 1/4 drive fits perfectly between the 2 spokes of the muffler bracket a 3/8 drive extension will be too thick.
@AwkhuardVQАй бұрын
Great tip! Honestly I'm not sure why a 1/4" drive never crossed my mind. If I ever half to tackle the EVAP canister again I'll make sure to try that!

Where do you jack up and put the jack stands if the pinch welds are bent or rusted?
@AwkhuardVQ3 ай бұрын
Look up 2x4 wood jackstands. You could build a few levels and then set them under each wheel. Of course I would set actual jack underneath too for extra security. I would set it the long rails underneath the car that runs parallel to one another. I hope this help.

JUST GOT THE CODE AND NOW I KNOW WHAT TO DO, DO YOU NEED TO GET OEM PART FOR IT OR AFTER MARKET SHOULD SUFFICE?
@AwkhuardVQ4 ай бұрын
I always recommend getting an OEM over aftermarket even if its used. This part shares with most Nissans and INFINITIs before 2010. If there is a local picknpull or salvage yard near you can I'd say check there first, if not, then online is your best case. You could get an aftermarket one, but YMMV on those.

I’m trying to figure out what hose connects to that control valve. I recently got a car from auction with that missing valve and hose.
@AwkhuardVQ4 ай бұрын
The part number for the hose is 18791-CD010. Follow the other EVAP lines and until it brings you above the subframe and there's a little black spout sticking out of the body. That's where it'll plug into.

If i replace lower intake manifold would this work and clear p1138?
@AwkhuardVQ5 ай бұрын
Technically you could replace your entire lower intake manifold to fix the issue as long as it has the actuator too. In theory, if there is too much carbon build up around the lower intake butterfly valves it could cause the valves to not open or close properly, but usually it's just the actuator that needs replacing.
