Since i am an amateur diver, i dream of having a submariner as a 1st Rolex. If i show up at an AD wearing a vintage Omega Seamaster from the 60's inherited from my grandpa, would it make a good impression? or would i be offending them wearing a competitive brand?

I'm here just to check if my suspicion about those "waiting list" nonsense is true. And this video confirms my suspicion. And that's ok as I've never liked Rolexes and preferred Omegas especially now that George Daniel's co-axial movements are in them. Rolex have not had any breakthrough innovations for decades and decades. They're just disproportionately successful with their marketing, that's all. I'd much prefer to pay more and get a PP, Vacheron Constantin or AP instead. For what I value, I'd even prefer to spend my money on a Leica camera than a Rolex.

That’s exactly what happened to me I walked in on a Saturday around 1pm and I was offered a dj41 Wimbledon/fluted/jubilee obviously I bought it, lost of ppl were picking up watches on that Saturday afternoon also.
