Thank you for sharing; kindly asking for help on a case where neuro technology has been inserted in a human brain without his own consent and awareness. Forced to undergo psykiatric reprisal and psycosocial dynamics without dignity and human rights. There were medical research using the neuro technology which was illegal. Are you able to help ... in part as a result of this this person is suffering from trauma and ptsd Wishing Judith rip and thank you

Ms. Deidre was an amazing mentor. She took me under her wing in 2014. I will forever cherish her mentorship and knowledge. I was studying to become a Rehabilitation Counselor. She wanted me to be a black woman pioneer in disability rights and advocacy in higher education. I want to continue her legacy as a black woman with an invisible disability.

Hello I am reaching out on behalf of a friend. She is disabled, 28 and lives in Karachi. She has multiple issues that cause significant suffering, her condition is deteriorating and she is desperate for surgeries she cannot afford. She is also in an abusive household. If you have any advice or support to give I would be so, so grateful. I am also disabled and don't know how to help her.

Those of us with disabilities need to plan and prepare for natural disasters ourselves because the government does a piss poor job of helping out those with disabilities in times of natural disasters because guess who is always left behind in a disaster the disabled who are waiting on the government to get them out.

I’m leaving engineering to start disability law because of how poor disability accommodations and rights are being handled at my community college. I’m talking counselors do not even mention all possible accommodations, and have a if you don’t ask, you don’t get, mentality. While I appreciate the sentiment, when a student reaches out to counselors, that to me, is where the asking is. I’d love to educate students on all possible accommodations so counselors and professors cannot play dumb (with all due respect to the great professors we do have) and thank you for the amazing video.

I am my grandson's main communication advocate. He's almost 6 and has been using TouchChat for almost a year now. (Unfortunately, his mom is not supportive of his use of an AAC device.) I see the AAC device as a means to give my grandson a voice to say more than "Yes" to something suggested to him by another. It's my hope that, as my grandson becomes more proficient, he will be able to advocate for himself in any situation, be that with eventual acquired mouth words or with his device. I am so excited that Communication 4 All will offer classes to teach families how to teach typing to our loved ones. This was a wonderful interview. Thank you. Elizabeth Bonker is nothing less than amazing!!

TouchChat is great, I love that you’re supporting your grandson’s use of AAC! I hope his mum is coming around to it as well. As a mum of a nonspeaking son, I can’t see why a parent wouldn’t want their child to have a means of communication. Maybe she thinks it will prevent speech? But in fact, AAC actually *supports* speech development, rather than prevents it x

@@sensationallearningwithpen9169 I often share with people that my grandson's interest in using mouth-words has increased, though the words are not (yet) intelligible. Is there a timeframe that Communication for All is working towards to have classes to teach families how to teach typing to communicate?

What a surprise today, and congrats to Judy Heumann for going out of this world (leaping to the afterlife) a few weeks later in a big way! Well, of course, Hillary Clinton, Judy Heumann and Gloria Steinem with Hillary Clinton at Disability Rights are Human Rights. And fantastic to hear Judy Heumann on current public policies from immigration and voter rights, to Afghanistan, climate change and Bidenś Build Back Better (home and community-based services). Congrats!

THis is just so amazing!!! So glad that lost tradition and language has been preserved by this wonderful and touching description by someone who put his soul into it.. When I was a kid I was fascinated with Native American Tribes and still am. Amazing - a whole family of activists. LOVE it. As a kid I loved roller coaster too. Ha ha I used to be very shy as a kid, and that really stood in the way. at school especially it was situational mutism that made it difficult to answer questions, when put on the spot, in front of the class. It kinda became really better the more life experience I had, and after I changed my diet, removing trigger foods, my brain literally lit up, and suddenly speaking became way better and more fluent. I am aware that is completely different from not being able to speak at all. However, I think I am a good listener to. I find it important to attend in a way that is conscious and heart felt.. I wish I would have a mentor and be taught one on one, then I might have studied psychology, that never happened due to dyscalculia. But I was diagnosed at age 46 with Aspergers Autism.

Hi. I didn't watch this whole video because I'm here after finishing the podcast version off of Spotify. But I noticed that the transcript/CC should be corrected starting at 22:22 when Kathy and Judy both say "Sí se puede." The current CC does not correctly transcribe these two instances at all. It's especially important to transcribe it as-is since it's not just a Spanish phrase, but also a historically used rallying cry for activists of varying causes (first/originally used by the United Farm Workers of America). Kathy is definitely referencing these connotations here. Thanks if you are able to correct it 🙂

Molly and Judy had such an important impact on my life and accepting and advocating for disabled people Judy taught me disabled people like me aren’t worth less, we’re incredibly important for the community and strong individuals who have the power to make change even though society tries so hard to silence and exclude us. Molly’s videos are the ones I showed my mom who had very black and white views on disability, she fell in love with her fashion and personality and wanted to learn more and it brought so much acceptance from my mother for me. These two powerful woman have impacted my life beyond words
