I truly regard Group A rallying as the best era in rally. Now of course i hold the 70s in a higher regard but for different reasons. Group B does deserve the love it gets but it simply was not as on the limit as Group A. Group A just tops Group B for competitiveness. Group B is always going to be the king of technological achievements for a rally car.

An LTD would have the LTD in the center of trunk lid with the crown surrounding it. If it was a XL it would have a round emblem in the same place with XL.

Sincèrement, pour avoir piloté une groupe B, je pense qu'elles allaient beaucoup moins vite que les autos actuelles. On passait beaucoup de temps sur les freins parce que c'etaient des autos bien moins stables que celles d'aujourd'hui. Les moteurs etaient brutaux, mais en fait bien moins efficaces que ceux qu'on fait maintenant. On savait qu'on avait le cul sur les reservoirs d'essence et que le turbo n'etait pas refroidi, donc rouge. On connaissait les risques. Certains l'ont payé très cher. Certains on vu leur coequipier brûler vif. Moi, j'ai eu de la chance. Une sortie à 160, 5 tonneaux, 50 metres de plongeon dans un ravin. L'auto n'a pas pris feu. Mais pendant la chute, on y a pensé tous les deux. 5 tonneaux de l'interieur, c'est long. Très long. On a le temps de voir la faucheuse qui nous attend au bord de la route. Mais ce jour-là, elle a préféré prendre la copilote d'un autre equipage. Brulée dans une Rallye 2. Et à peine posés au fond on est sortis en courant par la baie de pare-brise. Les portes etaient bloquées. Mais on était bien plus heureux que maintenant dans le monde de Macron.

Beautiful car my friend. I have owned 2 69s in the past. A gold GT with the 390, and a black cherry GT with a 351. This car still has the best looking a$$ out of any car i've seen. IMHO These just arent around anymore. Treat her well.
