one of the best things i ever bought was a quality stainless exhaust, for my old rover, saved a lot of hassle in the long run, stainless components not that expensive so surprised an arizan of trevs caliber is using mild steel

You did indeed take the long way around the block so please allow me to praise your work. You provided what my math teacher, geometry, algebra, trig, calculus and even some of the higher level economics professors called a formal proof. Unless you've studied geometry you might not appreciate how great your feat is. That's what it does for knuckle heads like me who have to work hard to learn because The Lord didn't bless us with basic intelligence such as He blessed you. I would not have considered weighing paint without you. Thank you, Sir!

Hey Trev & Folks, Wouldn't your mystery product be a waterproofing agent for leather shoes, a sort of water-repellency reactivator?Have a great week!

Hey Trev, glad to see another video! I'm going to guess that your mystery product is cooking spray - some form of vegetable oil in an aerosol can Don't know what brands you have there in the UK, one called Pam is common here stateside Looking forward to more videos, wish you and yours all the best!

That is really beautiful hammer forming. Show that to just abut anyone and I'm sure they'll immediately conclude this is a pressed panel. Nice work.

Good to see you back, Trev. Hi from Australia where rust isn't as huge an issue. I believe the mystery treatment to be olive oil cooking spray.

As an Aussie, i swear by Lanox, spray it around likes it's free. Works really well, unfortunately it isnt free but it is worth it and easy to get.

I know this is an old video now but struggling to find any suitable spreaders on ebay. Can only find the normal ones. Any hints on what to search for. 👍
Hi Trev, I use a earlex paint sprayer I brought from a boot sale, very good. It is like a small vacuum, that blows . It has a plastic pipe and plastic spray gun .

My guess would be anti stick spray for cookie sheets/baking. I've tried Eastwood rust remover gel, vinegar, I forgot what type of acid. Used to clean swimming pools, and concrete. all with mixed results. '57 D100 pickup. Well what's left. Back in the early '80's we combined it with a '69 Fury parts car. It started as a drive train and electrical swap, and then snow balled from there. Welded in the '69 sub frame for torsion bar suspension, which set the newer drive train well into the cut up fire wall. Moving the rear spring pads to the top of the 8 3/4 axle. Before I ramble on to long, I lost my dad 6 years ago, my mom who did the interior last fall. I'm just going back through the truck 40 years later and trying to preserve it.

What software do you use on this machine 🤔. I'm doing research on a similar topic but without filler.
@trevsblog12 күн бұрын
The machine rests against the contour of the panel which gives it one axis. The other axis is achieved by the operator manually adjusting a high tensile steel bar to give it bow. It’s basically all mechanical.

@trevsblog I think I'm a hard head. I understand how the horizontal and vertical motion are controlled. However, I can't understand how it can be used on curved and semi elliptical shaped panels without digital automation.

If only restorers could completely dip a car to galvanise it like manufacturers do. I drive a 2001 Octavia and it has only a tiny amount of rust where psint has been damaged over the years. But no rust in seams or box sections. I go stock car and banger racing and Modeo and Focus both are usually patched on inside of wheel arch to floor yet Astra and Honda are usually fine. Was it design or poor rust proofing that caused the Fords to rust so badly?
