What is the specification of the brush do you use??

Would your drybrush technique with dissolved edges work for the background (when you depict distant city)?
@zvonimirtosic6171Ай бұрын
Brush tips are destroyed during ink dipping and on-palette mixing. The only way to preserve brush tips in painting/drawing is to dip the brush sideways only. Your trick with the jar lid is neat, but the lid is too narrow and the bristles will bend and split to soak in the ink. I use a short glass test tube, or the so-called "self-capped centrifugal vial tube", with v-shaped bottom. Both cost a few $. Put ink in it, attach it at 30-40 degrees to your desk like you do with the lid, and then dip your brush in it. You will never destroy or bend the tip, it will be perfectly straight. While removing the brush from the tube, press the brush sideways against the vial walls, to squeeze out excess ink, which drips back into the vial. When all work is done, cork the tube; ink is preserved and stored.

Great video! Are you printing out the pencils onto bristol at reduced opacity? Considering that as a hybrid approach - penciling traditionally, scanning, tweaking digitally, and then printing them out again for final traditional inks.

That method totally works! Me and some of the other studio mates have absolutely done that. I hope it works out for you!

Hello. This was very helpful. I would think that inking was a lost art. Thank you for showing us how it's done. :)

If you know, let me know because I like to draw, but i also like to colr. Thank you ❤ Do you have any comic books 📚 out that i can pick up out right now on book shelves?

How much of and angle do you have when you’re drawing

Sincere question here. It appears each artist is working on their own personal projects, or commissioned projects. With that said, is this a studio that artist can rent office space? Or is it mainly team based projects but you still have time for personal projects there?

Lovely lines you get with the brush. I dont like using the ruler either, especially for inking, it looks too cold. And its tedious of course :)

Solid inking video🔥! How do you clean and store the brush at the end of each session?

Hello. I hope someone can answer this question. I have a story that I envision being done in 4 parts/floppies. Can I or should I do four campaigns - one for each part. Or do I need to do all four parts simultaneously - graphic novel/trade paperback (one campaign)? Thanks
@helioscopepdx66666 ай бұрын
My instinct is to say do 4 separate floppies. That way they’ll be easier to fund, complete, and will gradually help grow your Kickstarter following.

Back in the day when I thought I would be a professional artist and even went to accreted art school. Two things told me the stop art school and find another way to make a living. Number 1, Those that graduated from the art school. What was the percentage that went on after graduation to work in the art field at any level from teaching art, selling art or making art and the reality was maybe 5% unless you considered painting houses. Number 2. How many advertisements or recruitment organization in print or the internet are looking to give an artist a job? Before the internet you would like in the classified section of the major cities to find a job opening. And in my 5 years of looking for an art job I only saw 2 and both were large department store looking for someone to decorate their windows. If you want to be an better artist today by far the best place to learn is on the internet and free too. I am now 77 and I still like making art with my drawings and my sculptures but nothing is for sale I do it for my own pleasure. However I am a millionaire today and retired in Thailand and I made my money working all over the world for oil companies as a construction manager.

Nice Video! i really like the: don't worry about your art, let others think about it while you create more art. Although working digital has many positive features, inking traditionally again made me so much faster as you just cannot correct every single line all the time 👍
