I know this video was meant to make me reconsider moving to JC but it did the exact opposite. I’ve lived in manhattan for the past 2 years and I’m so sick of it. It’s way too expensive, dirty, loud, and the apartments feel like you’re living in a 3rd world country. It’s unbelievable. JC has way better options for apartments. I’ve heard that the path train might be a little difficult to deal with but honestly I’m willing to take the chance just to get the hell out of Manhattan

New Jersey is expensive, and traffic is mostly horrendous. The best thing to do when retiring is to sell your NJ property, and move to Kentucky. Lots of nice places to live. Living near Lexington KY or Nashville TN are good if a more cosmopolitan feel is desired. Louisville is not as good as the other 2.

Used to live in Ridgewood but now retired to The Villages, Florida. Believe it or not a 3/2/2 home here can run you as much as some of the towns you listed. But we don’t have an income tax.

North Jersey is now officially all New Jersey. South Jersey has just sunken into the Atlantic.

These is wrong you move to Jersey city, you have to earn at least 150,00. This guy speaks like Jersey city, is just to move in like is a city that everybody can live. There Hoboken another city for the people who made 100,00 living in a walking closed.

Best neighborhood in Newark is Mount Pleasant Cemetery on Broadway. Quiet if you are not close to Route 21. Top notch neighbors. Fenced and gated community.

I wouldn’t call Princeton a town in North Jersey. As for North Jersey, I would mention Maplewood and Madison. Good NYC commute and overall very nice places.

Short Hills is not a town. It is a section of Millburn NJ. Millburn is worth the 2 as well. Has the Papermill Playhouse and the High School combines with all sections

OMG... as soon as I heard Montclair and Ridgewood I said is this "Best places to pay more taxes than the average USA income". LOL I've been to every town on this top 10 list. These are nice places if youre pushing 50 and have two 2.5 kids and stay home every weekend. I left NJ and the only thing I miss is the fairly good pizza. Not Lucali good but decent. Other than that the taxes.... just wreck your investment portfolio long term. I've put that tax money to work since leaving and I can probably buy a house in NJ now. Too bad I couldn't afford the new assesments surely on the way since the real estate frenzy of 2022-23.

Ridgewood restaurants are very diverse. American, Greek, Chinese, Japanese, Indian, Brazilian, Italian, Irish, Mexican to name a few. The population lack of diversity is actually a pro for many people. They don't want a town that looks like Jersey City, Paterson, Clifton and that's ok. It's a beautiful town. 8:57

Hi Seth Enjoyed the videos about NJ. My daughter is doing an internship in Rahway . She is living in Hoboken and really likes it. She was offered a position at the company and we are looking for an apartment. Right now she has 2 other room mates so can afford to life in Hoboken. When she starts her job she doesn’t want to have room mates and it makes Hoboken somewhat cost prohibitive. Is there another area or town we can look at that may be comparable to Hoboken that she would be able to commute to Rahway that is safe, She has a car. I think her budget would be around 2k. She is 23 y/o.Thanks for your help.

There are too many good towns your criteria is not deep enough. Franklin lakes of like Beverly Hills. The most expensive town in the country is alpine, new Vernon is among the richest towns in the country. I don’t think you have defined the right criteria. You need to go deeper than population and housing price etc.

What about that traffic? It's not like all the other cities located away from major roads ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Also Ridgewood has most public transportation to NYC - train every half an hour. The only "problem" is how expensive it is.

There are 3 major sections in NJ: North Jersey, Central NJ and South Jersey ....... unknown fact about Summit, NJ = A TON of NYC advertising execs live there! No mention of Millburn right next door to Short Hills = Millburn HS was once ranked as the number one HS in America for a few years in a row....

Thanks for the efforts not sure if I missed but you mentioned Median rent of xxxx but what unit type (studio, 1 room, 2 room, 3 room, 4 room, apartment?? If you are telling 2100 for Studio vs 2100 for 4 Room, it makes a big difference. The same goes for the Median property price..what is the dwelling type. For me personally I am taking this video okay I get the top 10 towns only..and completely ignore the numbers presented because they lack tons of relative information to conclude the best town to live from cost to lifestyle ratio. Once again thanks for making the video and have a wonderful week.

There are so many great towns in New Jersey. You named a few in this video, and more NJ towns in other videos that you have created; yet in reality, the list is long. Thank you for talking about our great towns. Continue to spread the word. We, New Jerseyans, as well as others, appreciate NJ's small towns. 🎉

All of the towns/cities you mentioned are nice places to live, and, of course, you can't list every other worthy town, but do you realize that Chatham 's neighboring town Madison has much more going on in it or for it than does Chatham. Similar in pricing for homes, having excellent public schools, outstanding restaurants, a Shakespeare theater, two universities, a museum, and like Chatham, a train station, a lovely walkable downtown, a longstanding amazing bookstore, and a town that once made the list as NJ best town in 2019, and has consistently ranked high on many such lists, it's hard to overlook Madison as one of the best towns to experience living in New Jersey.
