I found a nice Kencor rod at that 1st spot you parked on the lower. Some poor soul simply forgot it right there next to the bridge leaning on the fence. As much as I hated to throw a grip on it, I weighed the odds & it was 500 to 1 that someone other than the previous owner would come along 1st. I was proof of that. No way I was gonna just leave it there. It was a freakin' Kencor!

A small creek that can't handle extra pressure, AND gets warm in the summer. At least educate your followers to carry a thermometer and stop fishing in the heat of the summer. Really sad to see a "fishing influencer" blow up a locals favorite spot.

@wildernesswithamani1027 3 күн бұрын
I spend time in every video talking about warmer water requires a great deal more recovery time for releasing fish healthy. I also spend a great deal of time in my videos trying to "educate" my viewers on a lot of sustainable outdoor practices. This is one fishing site of many dozens across my channel playlists so the extra pressure will be marginal, based on my experience 5 years in at this, and at least if people are searching out information for fishing in the area I make clear what the regulations are and push for safe catch and release.

Don't like it? Don't look. Only a society as unconscious and over-civilized as ours would demonize something as simple as nudity.
@wildernesswithamani1027
@wildernesswithamani1027 3 күн бұрын
For people with kids in that campground right there I feel the parents should decide whether or not their young kids are going to be exposed to a naked grown man's junk. Being considerate of others trying to enjoy the same public space isn't being over civilized, it's just exercising common courtesy and not stripping down and going with "everyone has to deal with my nudity whether they like it or not". You can project that same sort of selfishness on people who play music loudly in a campground in the middle of the day. Maybe they can but it's going to bum a lot of people out who went there for a nice nature experience. Being considerate of the feelings and experiences of others is not over civilized.

Nicely done 👌 but I suggest you wear some sunscreen or some sun protection shirts. Sun makes you age faster.
@wildernesswithamani1027
@wildernesswithamani1027 3 күн бұрын
Thanks for the suggestion but I have it covered. Should I wear more than the 50 spf waterproof sunscreen covering every inch of my exposed skin? I know as the SPF goes up past 15 there are diminishing returns on effectiveness but I still use the 50 because it's thick and lasts a long time. Why would you assume I don't wear sunscreen? As a dude over 50 I think I'm doing pretty good with aging for the most part. Especially as one who spent two and a half decades swimming, surfing, and hanging out in the sun around the ocean many days of the year. I did get a bad sunburn when I was in middle school. Still remember that one.

Right on. I have had great action downstream in the pickle meadows stretch but this was my first hike upstream into Leavitt Meadows. All I was seeing was a few little brookies and not the best water to fish. To be fair, I didn't go as far upo as some of the commenters wrote about but what they encountered sounded similar to my experience. I've heard Leavitt Lake is decent but I haven't fished there yet.

A little to dramatic😊 Get over it
@wildernesswithamani1027
@wildernesswithamani1027 3 күн бұрын
Next to a campground with families and right under a bridge the trail does over, I don't think that's dramatic. I think that's just a selfish way they were rolling to think, "I'll just strip down nude in this highly visible area and everyone walking by just has to deal with it whether they like it or not". What happened to consideration of others, I sure don't want to see that but I can imagine the number of families with young kids who might be cool with that is zero. Again, "everyone has to look at my junk whether they like it or not" in an open spot like that is just strange. How about at least try to do it in a more secluded area. I don't play music in a campground because I don't want to hinder the experience of others. I don't fire my gun in the National Forest everywhere I am legally allowed to because it makes others feel uneasy. I go to sites that are known for shooting because I try to be at least a little considerate of others. I want to have a good time but I don't want to spoil the experiences of others. It's ok if people worry about the feelings of others. Everyone should be able to enjoy the public space without having to ne exposed to the selfish actions of others that impact those around them. I have no problem with the nude areas around Lake Tahoe because they are known and people can go there and do their thing and those that don't want to see it can avoid it. It's like the shooting areas in the national forest I speak of. Right under the trailhead next to a campground with families just seems a little tone def, selfish, and weird to me. Sure I joke about it in the video but nothing wrong with trying to make a point with a little levity.

I agree they could be a little more respectful of others and find a more private place to be one with nature. What was dramatic was your description of the effect it had in you "I need to go get therapy, Gouge my eye's out & etc" Your reply was way to long and dramatic for something that could've been said in a couple of sentences, we get the picture.😂

I think that's below the Chimney Beach trail. The water is up so there is a lot of hiking to do when you get down to the lake. Chimney Beach area (go left of the actual beach) has access to deeper water. The Bliss state park on the CA side has deep water also but you have to hunt for it. My lake Tahoe shore fishing playlist has a lot of spots around the lake. I'd say find public access with at least 20' of water. The particulars of how I rig up can be found on my fishing tips playlist.

@wildernesswithamani1027
@wildernesswithamani1027 5 күн бұрын
I use a 5' foot ultralight which has no power to force any fish to do anything at any point so that might not be for everyone. I just like feeling that I am going to lose a fish at any moment and it forces me to let the fight play out. I think most people would use a rod 5'6" to 7". When I'm fishing a jig in a river that isn't really deep I have to hold my rod straight up and down vertical to keep my jog out of snags on the bottom and that's not for everyone. I have not used a rod over 5'6" long in over a couple of decades so I might not be the one to ask if it's experience you are looking for.

She had one of those solar showers and was out on a point at sunset. I couldn't tell if she was good looking but it didn't matter from that distance. She had a great body. This was 30 years ago and now all the women are fat. Sooo there's that. If you dont want to see naked old guys then I suggest you stay away from the confluence in auburn.

Those old dudes were doing something that was a thing back in the 70's when people would go backpacking. I still see people strip down and jump into lakes in the backcountry every now and then but I have never seen anyone do it right below a bridge that is part of a main trail over a river. Next to the campground made it even more odd.
