@@alsson3137 Why thankya' sir! 😁 FX and I have a love/hate type of feeling still.. 5 years after getting the 1st rifle, I still can't get the parts I need for customizing it to the specs that I originally wanted.. Yet they'll pump out model after model to keep their hype train going.. If I didn't invest as much as I have in them, they'd all be gone. Still amazing accuracy though, so I can't complain. AGN - Man, I miss you and the others on there so much! It was my 2nd home.. Between getting burned really badly by a user - through a 'local' trade, and being constantly inundated w/ strangers w/ odd questions, begging me for freebies, etc. I just had to take a break. I'm literally in the middle of moving again, so as soon as things are back to normal, I'll have some real fun info / etc. to share. And I'm sure I'll be back on the site for a cameo appearance. haha [Or just to post most of my pew pew collection] I downsized big time. I hope all's well on your side of the screen, and since I missed ya.. Happy New Year as well! =)

Thank you bro! When I mentioned 'CAD' earlier.. I'd like to design/prototype a few different things for these pistols. The stock, and a different style of grip are the 2 things on my mind. Hopefully I'll figure something out Sooner than later. 👍 Oh! And possibly some thicker adapter collars that we can put on our scopes to make the dia large enough to mount our NV scope cam setups.. That'd rock!

Hey Dovi, I just found your post on Airgun Nation but I was wondering if you could give some more detail on how to build the frame and how you secure the mats to the frame (what screw size, etc). I picked up 2 of the 4’x6’ horse stall mats and was wondering how you did it. Thanks.
@DirtyDovi
@DirtyDovi 10 ай бұрын
Hey there! Cool, it's nice that this back-stop is making the rounds again, it still works Great! Okay, so.. You've already got the mat - Trimming it to size is the most awkward part.. Use a sharp utility knife to keep scoring the rubber til' it finally hacks through nice n' evenly. Size wise - I went w/ 2x3 ft more so that I could double material up - and have spare.. Frame wise.. Using that trim wood, I simply measured the frame sections so that they would literally border the mat. The mat[s] sit inside of the frame.. Then you'll notice that on the 'back-side', I've added a crossmember.. That: 1 - adds rigidity to the whole thing, and 2 - makes for a spot to add some mounting screws.. Screws - I think I used 1" to secure the frame, and then sunk the same screws into the rubber-mat.. Just enough to keep it in place.. Pause at 0:37 You'll see some screw heads on the back and side.. Same deal, I sunk screws through the outer faces of the top/bottom/sides to sink into the sides of the mat.. In the end.. I'd do things differently for ease of teardown, but, it's lasted all this time - just got Heavy! Hopefully that makes sense.. It really was just a random thing I threw together, but on the next one, I'll be sure to document Everything a bit better so it's easier understood. Promise though - this one's super simple since it's all just using the k.i.s.s. method. haha Good luck, any more questions - ask away, and keep me/us posted on how things turn out! 1 heads up - Just be careful with 'some' projectiles.. I know that BBs will 'bounce back', and over the years had a few other rounds 'deflect' - while 99% of them just sink in and stay put. Sam -

Watched the video from start to finish and then quickly skipped through it again, but it doesn't seem you described how you placed the mic in your modular helmet. Could you share with us how you did it? I placed mine in between the shell and the cheek pad, tried it by letting it stick out a little bit and also completely hiding it behind it but got bad results with those setups.
@DirtyDovi
@DirtyDovi Жыл бұрын
Hey! Thanks for checking out the vid, and sorry about that.. I sorta' skipped over the install as every helmet is different, and these modulars being the biggest pains to do much with.. On mine, since the 'electronics' all connect from the right side - that's where the mic is secured. I used the simple mount w/ some 3M double sided molding tape, an fixed it to where the tip of the mic could then curve around the lower jaw section of the helmet and end directly in front - where you'd speak.. Then the rest of the cable was tucked in between the cheek padding and the shell.. There was a bit of trial/error getting the aux-end of the cable out - as opening/closing would bunch it up.. so.. I just use small pieces of black gaffer's tape to secure that to both the top and bottom sections. In essence creating a "C" path.. Hopefully that makes sense and helps out! Sam -

@DirtyDovi
@DirtyDovi Жыл бұрын
Hi there! Great question, but it's been so long that I honestly can't remember.. I don't think I did have to zoom though, since I was *using my feet to zoom* at the time.. I was super close to the wall as I walked along.. I know Exactly what you mean though as far as regular vignetting, and, using a fisheye with a hood attached as well.. To be honest, I think they did an Amazing Job w/ these lenses, and they Just Work! I absolutely loved that thing, and still kick myself for selling it.. I most definitely plan on getting another one! Just a heads up.. My name is Sam - So I went through the extra to get the SAMyang version. haha [I'm a bit of a Derp] You can find the Exact Same lens branded under: "Rokinon" I believe they offer several different "MM" versions also.. Mine was the 8mm version With Detachable Hood! [There's another version w/ the hood fixed permanently to the lens - No good imo] Then there are a few other copies that offer 12mm, 14mm, etc. But again - IMO - The 8mm was the most Fun. [Just keep in mind the lower the mm the higher the barrel-distortion / 'fisheye effect'] **For kicks.. I purposefully shot a few quick photos and videos w/ a LOT of fisheye, and then ran the files through some 'anti-fisheye-programs'... I was amazed to find that the programs edited the final images/video Very Well, and corrected things to make them appear as if there was no barrel-distortion at all.. Pretty neat - Should you end up wanting to 'adjust' anything like that. 😊👍 Sam -
