How did you know that the pump was bad? I’m down to 35 miles with a full tank of add blue and it won’t reset.

Unfortunately, I'm doing this on the ground using jack stands. Job from hell! I strongly do not recommend this way. Now I have a 2011, with 198,000kms. I can't get the ball joints off. Castle nut is seized. Tried everything, a hammer, a pick, bar. Unfortunately the 19mm wrench did not cut it. So out comes the ''Bezel'' (cutter). Hacked off the nut. Still won't move. Tried the ''pitch fork'' approach...nada. With a 198,000 on the clock , I am tempted at simply replacing the knuckle and the hub/bearing, to get rid of the ball joint. Other than heat (torch) any recommendations?

This is very helpful. Easy enough to raise the engine up a bit. I think easier than lowering the whole subframe? Thanks!

Hey, Dave. Sorry to give some corrections on this. You do not need to remove the belt unless, like in your case, the belt came off. When the belt has not come off, i would tell viewers to look at how the belt routes if it is going to be replaced, such as a replacement of belt due to age milage or damage. Further, while the engine cover does need to be removed, on your vehicle, the cover was not installed correctly. The oil cap tube needs to be removed to pull the engine cover, not just the oil fill cap but the tube between the cap and the valve cover. It disconnects the same way as the cap. As for the upper rad hose, no, it does not. Need to be removed. After removing the cover, reinstall the oil fill tube/cap. The upper rad hose can be lifted out of the J support and pushed back and hooked over the oil fill cap/tube. Last NO, the A/C DOES NOT NEED TO BE DISCHARGED! One there is enough room even with the ac line in place though tight. Yes, moving the line back will open up room. However, it is an unnecessary step just like the hose removal. You are only adding more work, time and expense to the job. Generaly, the line can be moved enough to get enough room. If it is that tight, better to simply unbolt the compressor from the block, which will then give ample room, all with less work and time. Time required to evacuate and recharge. The full jobe should not take a mechanically inclined individual with air or power ratchets any longer than two hours to complete the full job ot three hrs with all non power ratchets. If not mechanically inclined, WELL THEY HAVE NO BUSINESS UNDER THE HOOD WITH ANY TOOL IN IN THEIR HANDS!!!😊

I wish I knew the error code? You should've received a fuel pressure warning. Next you should OHM the motor with a new one. Mechanics these days love to shot gun parts instead of troubleshoot. No sound could be a dirty or bad electrical connection but the $1000.00 motor is fine. Dealers love to do this. I was quoted $2500.00. I could hear the motor spin and remember that it takes 10 times to pressure the fuel system. About 30 minutes. Huge filters.
