The collision was not because 2 trains were in the same block as this would of been permissive working which allows more than one train in each block and i have never seen a signal that displays a yellow with 2 white lights, it's usually red with white lights.

these trains keep failing. i was on one that had to terminate at JS due to a severe electrical fault
@Jakeso
@Jakeso Ай бұрын
I've had a lot of issues with them. 3 of the 4 emergency stops I've EVER had have been on a 777 (all technical faults, I assume) the other e.stop that wasn't 777s was on a 350 but that was a PASCOM proceedure and not a fault. I've had two in the tunnels where we began moving after a minute but my first one (and first e. stop) was going from Hooton to Eastham Rake where we had an emergency stop followed by a complete lighting failiure. Main lighting, reserve lighting, PIS, etc went offline and any attempts to reboot were unsuccesful so we moved in the dark which was quite scary. The 777s are decent trains, I like them, but they break so often that it makes it very hard for me to like them sometimes.

4:17 You can't uncouple without power? On older BREL trains fitted with tightlock you'd use the emergency uncoupling lever to release the coupler and figure things out from there. Not sure if the drum switch which normally controls the electrical connections can be manually operated (it has a handle but the training videos don't say anything about manually operating the drum switch)

Why don’t the signals stay at caution when there is a diversion route set at this location? The change to green would have caused confusion.

Nope, this was the service from Liverpool Central to South Parkway non stop, although I think the service you talk about did actually pass by me earlier that day.

Several reasons as to why I believe this was an emergency stop: - We had just passed a green aspect - There was no dynamic braking (the motors weren’t decelerating the train) - The train was running semifast due to a fault

The Lumo train was not scheduled to stop anywhere before London King's Cross, so it did not matter to the passengers (oops sorry, "guests") which order the trains arrived in. It continuing on the fast line at the maximum permitted speed would not have caused any further delay to the late-running LNER train unless it was proposed to run the LNER train faster than the speed limit in order to make up time, which I believe is forbidden. What was the point of diverting the Lumo train onto the slow line and presumably making it stop for about 25 minutes? To make LNER's punctuality figures better? No way would the train have gained enough time to arrive within 10 minutes of schedule. To make Lumo's punctuality figures worse?

I think merseyrail would be better off with a 378 or a 375 where they use these 777s

A couple of issues: it'ss not just GBrf that has to do a brake tes. it'ss all FOC's and TOCs'. Plus, you mentioned 4E11 being 66729 which yes that is correct, then you said later on in the video 4E11 was being hauled by 66739.

What’s the minimum crew size for freight trains in the UK? Is it just a driver or is there a conductor as well?

I would say it was due to the same reason the colwich accident happened back in 86, the driver was expecting D197 to go green as he approached it as it always had done before.
