What’s cool about the internal tower cranes is the space occupied by the tower crane becomes an elevator shaft once the crane is removed.

I find it hard to believe the solenoid brakes are used in normal operation except to hold the cab in place while a vehicle moves in and out - can't the electric motors act as brakes too? (As you discussed in Test Track)

It’s actually the rails of the track that are filled. You can watch a video of the tour of B&Ms steel fabrication shop in Ohio. They explain the process

My guy, the magnetic breaking tower is not electromagnetic. Its an entirely passive breaking system. Just because it may use electric or hydraulic winches for lifting, and has magnets, does not mean it functions in the way the word 'electromagnetic' would imply. ie, using linear induction motors. Yes, I know, technically the eddie currents are a result of an electric field in the metal bars, but it is still NOT electromagnetic in function. And if the companies that build them call them that, those companies are wrong, but that doesnt give you the right to be wrong too...

FUN FACT: if you're a GM employee you get a free fast pass to the ride any time, and you can go into a secret viewing point right above the embankment.

I am sure the "history of motion" skipped the part where GM actively bought and stopped public transport in the U.S. or how cycling has actually had a renessaince for commuting in some European countries. I alway find it cheesy when they present aerodynamic car prototypes. There is so much that could be made more aerodynamic at current production cars. It isn't even difficult to figure out. It's just that the "efficiency score" has no relevance especially in the U.S.

Wife was a cast member when Test Track was coming on line . The cars flew off the two story high trac into the parking lot. After it was fixed, we (being employee) were the first to ride it before paying guests were allowed. Hinkey feeling!

I was in Disney paris last month, I got to ride for the first time and fell in love w everything about it, went in it a few times to get to see every detail and of course everytime it did diferent things, in on of them the first thing it did was a drop (like below the loading platform/floor) what of course was unexpected and i think its brilliant. Very sad that I didnt got to see the corridor part but still my fav♡

You say the Cathead , Working Jib and Counter Jib are installed with tie rods for support. Once the top is complete a counterweight is added. My question is do all these parts just come floating down from the clouds or do they use a Skycrane that’s always in the sky to assemble these parts ? I thought maybe this video would show that but the title is “How a Tower Cranes build Themselves so I’m guessing all that stuff happens while we’re all sleeping. I’m going to try another video on crane assembly, maybe they’ll actually show it happening while everyone else is sleeping

Those watching: this is specifically designed for all of you “civilians” to somewhat get an idea of how Catapults are launched. There are a lot of flaws and a lot more shit that’s not explained in this video. And for good reason. Reading a majority of these comments and questions, a lot of y’all DONT need to know the exact procedures.

When Test Track opened we didn't have affordable EV's that can do 0-60 in under 3 seconds... many people have a MUCH more exhilarating ride to the park these days than they will have on Test Track.
