Mr. Timmerman wasn't able to attend, so Kevin Hinshaw directed us. We nailed it. Met JP Patches too afterwards on the escalator. Triumphant night for us that evening.

I was there. Start number 42.. Saab 96 V4..shown at minute 1.43-.46..It was the last 96 ever in the World rally Championship after a glorious run from 1960.....We did more Stage miles in the event than most guys now get in a season. We had fuel line blockage first night and then again first SS Saturday morning after filling up at some obscure station outside of Shelton. More drama has we spat up a tooth on the pinion in the gearbox and on third day just past halfway point spat up a number of ring gear teeth and lost all drive..DNF... But we got to see the terrific battle between Alen and Kankunen down to the last Special Stage.. I still have the car and in a few weeks we begin a serious rust repaair job and the crew will be 2 of the three guys were were then my service crew...
