Hi everyone - mainly Grantsyard and Van Life UK - thanks to them to explain "advance " programming after entering password code "1234". P & t is manual heat control or thermostat control, 1 & 2 is selection between 12V or 24V, H & L is 5000W or 2000W, last number is 1 - 16ml, 2 - 22ml, 8 - 28ml dosing pump. Today I tested my 5KW heater with this "spanner" setting button controller model - all perfect, on P-01 heater 175*C, exhaust 220*C, only two LEDs, on P-05 heater 190*C, exhaust 340*C, four LEDs, on P-10 heater 206*C, exhaust 490*C, six LEDs. A lot of heat out of exhaust - my intention is to make muffler combine with heat exchanger to heat water for additional small hydronic heater and shower in my mobile home as next stage. I hope that software is and will controlling fan speed & fuel dosing to good combustion without "manual" programming fan & fuel ratio as on older controllers. Personally - I'll prefer option for "manual" for case need to do it - going to top on mountains - do not know yet how this controller will behaviour. Good luck everyone, Vas.

Hi Grant, can you please do a video where you can attach an inline on/off switch as the heater turns itself on if you don't unplug it. Looks like you don't reply to people's questions, oh well!

Looks fantastic! Love the methods you use for the beds and soil mixture! Our tunnel will be coming in next week, and I'm gonna definitely use some of your techniques! Up in the mountains of New York, we have just rocks and boulders, so it's impossible to plant in the ground, so raised beds are a must-have. I'm not sure if you have it yet, but I saw a lot of people install rain gutters on their polytunnel that deposit water right into their rain drum/barrel for maximum collection.

I used First Tunnels and built a 12 foot wide 32 foot long tunnel just recently.The tunnel is excellent and the service was second to none.I would recommend this firm 100% and I am already thinking of my next purchase.

When I turn the power on for my heater. I get nothing to set the clock just shows p12 which is voltage. If I press settings (top left and ok nothing happens. Which also means I can’t set the timer. Confusing to say the least.
@cliffhawkins22852 ай бұрын
Same as mine , no clock setting
@tarsneyisleestrelas46592 ай бұрын
@@cliffhawkins2285 think it’s the model. Which means you have to manually turn it on and off. If you leave it on it does reduce the fan speed to control the heat but I don’t know what the temp is set at. They are a bit of a pain to be honest.

I thought of using used motor oil in a sealed copper tube rad that would have exhaust extension clamped and wrapped to it.

I reckon that would work really well! I have an old double rad I could try it with

I have a diesel heater that will not light. I've taken it apart three times it's been cleaned and was not dirty. The are hole next to the glow plug is also clean. Also installed new gaskets a new glow plug. Every time I try to start it it just smokes. I did notice when it starts now the fuel pump runs five times

I can't see from the video how hot does the plastic enclosure gets. I want to mount it under a seat where it will be close to the seat foam and mounted on a floor which is carpeted and I don't know how big of a cut I need to make in a carpet to fit it.

Very helpful video, so firstly thank you. I think my timer must be set, but didn't set it. I have only just installed the unit it's like yours in the video but I've had it for nearly 3 years. I never set the timer but I walked out to the van this morning and it was going but it wasn't warm, how do I turn it off the timer please mate, and why would it not be hot, does it need to be primed before start every time? Thank you

you might could try a smaller barrel -less mass to heat might give you a higher temperature, I am going to start off trying a metal 5 gallon bucket with the exhaust coiled in the bucket and attached to the bucket inside with small pipe hangers so the exhaust pipe is toudhing the bucket. I am also considering stacking fire brick in the center of the coiled exhaust in the bucket. a small fan might help distribute the warmer air inside the building for a more uniform temperature

Fantastic video as I have this one so useful 👍 Question When you turn it off and the control panel goes off not lite up is it still using power from the battery 👍👍😜cheers
@stevemiller67664 ай бұрын
Well better late than never I suppose... Great idea. That mass will give you a thermal flywheel to try and keep the temperature up for free in your work shop. If I ever get around to buying one of these heaters I plan on experimenting with a coaxial exhaust pipe. The idea is to put the smaller hot exhaust pipe inside a larger pipe supplying the cold combustion air. I think this would burn the fuel better since warmer intake air should vaporize the fuel better. The exhaust after that sent to your exhaust battery could improve things?

Hi my triclicks engine temp goes to 200 degrees C and tuns the CLEA function on power off every time, even after a few minutes. Does this sound right?
@grantsyard5 ай бұрын
The temperature does go up really high. The Clea function on shut down happens whenever the heater has been on long enough to reach a working temperature

Looks like a well built unit and it came with the better fuel line so that's another good point! I like the idea of using the "oil extractor" on top of the tank instead of the cheap oil spiket that they use on the bottom of the tank which is suseptable to leaking. The control is simple easy to use when using just the 1 thru 10 to control the heater. I see they're out of stock, but there are plenty of identical heaters by other names that are all made by the same manufacturer at different prices, so just get the cheapest one and you'll have pretty much the same heater (but it may have the cheap green fuel line you will need to switch for a better one)

what about running the exhaust through a car radiator or a heater core, with a fan on the back of it to blow the heat through the room? or would it melt the soldier joints? anyways that's a different project all together, i was thinking if you were to use a drum half the diameter but taller you would feel the heat quicker, hotter and more heat would be ready made available,
