sweet story bud! I love how you are riding this beautiful open terrain, and then you all hang out drinking in a small hallway. looked like an epic trip!
@DunoyerFilms2 жыл бұрын
The hallway party thing was a strange quirk - the lodge only allowed you to drink the bad beer that they sold if you were in the downstairs lounge, meanwhile the tour operator had emphasized in their packing instructions to max out your duty-free liquor allowance at the airport. So the party always ended up being college dorm style on the floor in the hallway upstairs. Next year maybe I will rent a chalet if I can get a big enough group to commit.

42:00 Krakauer referring to the horrible series of events that occured on Everest in 1996... He knew some things were off back then, must have been some sort of déjà vue, accompanied with the fear and nightmares from those events. He made a safe call, trusting his own skill & limiting variables you can't control.

I am married to a long time commercial fisherman not only have their days been cut but they also are required to call in and get an observer(who works for the government, and has to give them 24hours to reply if they are available before they can head out and the observer gets paid out of the fisherman share and they also need to feed the observer) and if they are 1 minute over 24 hours the observer gets paid for a whole second day. How is that right ? the observer works for the government probably gets benefits as well and they are the ones taking away days from the fisherman, but then they are also getting paid out of the money the fisherman earned. Many of the fisherman this is all they know some didn't even graduate high school, if the government keeps putting limits and restrictions on them all the time how are they supposed to survive?... Farmers get help from the government why not the fisherman?
