The main reason why you CANNOT RESET the service light or the oil change is, YOU HAVE TO PUT THE MOTORBIKE ON THE MAIN STAND when you doing this reset!!! If you do it on side stand is doesnt work!

Also what is the pump called that you refer to in the video, I was looking to change the pump at the back but maybe its not this one that is causing the error as it shows the error even after resetting, if the pump at the back is only active when the engine is hot, presumably its picking up the start up error from the pump you mentioned?

On the flywheel side, the manual says you can use the flywheel lock tool to hold the flywheel and then remove the crank locking pin, but doesn't the flywheel need to be removed (2010 engine) before you can insert the crank pin?
@sinisterspeed67823 жыл бұрын
Pretty sure you need to pull your flywheel. The newer ones you dont have to
@sonotover3 жыл бұрын
Now that I've done it I can answer my own question....for me it fit with the flywheel installed (2010 factory) but if you're removing the head, you need to remove the flywheel anyway to remove the timing chain and sliders so yeah, that flywheel needs to come off anyway in most cases.

Jonny 87 so this is my problem I turn the crank and it stops with one timing chan off and one head off
@jonny87304 жыл бұрын
Okay, try this turn it till it stops by hand then loosen off the timing chain wheel that bolts to the cam shaft. Adjust that back. See if that works. I'm located in England.
@jonny87304 жыл бұрын
Also make sure the cylinder with the timing chain off isnt getting caught up on the crank at the bottom when rotating the engine.
@DzikiYZFR14 жыл бұрын
How to load cam chain tensioner after replacing camshaft? In service manual is special tool to do that but there isn't any procedure.
@jonny87304 жыл бұрын
To deploy the cam chain tensioner you need a long and thin tool to slide down the cam chain tunnel to push against the chain slider just enough to deploy the ratchet mechanism. ( obviously this has to be done when the cams are in and aligned and bolted down ) I would then suggest turning the engine over without the spark plugs in before starting the engine just to build up oil pressure within the tensioner before the initial start. It is a very fiddly job and be sure not to damage the chain or slider when applying pressure to them.
@sinisterspeed67823 жыл бұрын
So the chain should be tight when you reinstall and time the cams. Mine is slightly loose because I dropped it by accident being too rough getting the cams out

@@rubendemuyt1630 i messed up the timing. but i did solve the problem. after the front bank is timed it is crutial that you bring the #1 cyl to TDC on the compression stroke not the exhaust stroke. than you can time the rear bank.

@@myvw8u can you walk me through getting it to TDC. And does it matter if I stated with the rear. I dropped the cam chain sprocket attempting to get the cam off about an inch. The chain is light loose now and not sure what to do. Pretty sure it needs to be tight yeah?
