My father who has now passed leaving my mother as the sole original owner of a 1970 ls6 454 Chevelle. It’s documented 95% original. 22368 miles if I recall correctly. My father was a service manager at Daleys Chevrolet in central Illinois during this period. Ordered the car built to his specs. The original motor sits in the garage with 200 miles. Sitting in the car is a period correct engine without the serial of the car stamped as a replacement for the original motor. I’m not sure on the back story on the original but supposedly it had a failure needing it warrantied. My dad not accepting it wouldn’t have the matching numbers ensured it was never stamped. I have all the documentation build sheets etc for this car. We are in the works of having the original motor examined to see exactly whats wrong with it. We will be looking to auction the car at some point in the near future. We have a hot rod article written about Jim heyens ls6. May need to connect at a later date to have you look it over.

Love the no emblems clean look ! Guess what, I have the same car and same color and it was just repainted a darker blue, I'm on the fence of going with maybe 1 "Camaro by Chevrolet"emblem on the header panel , but damm yours may sway me bro !! I have the same hood too ! And the same blacked out gas cap, I blacked out the SS crap as well !

Back in 1984 I went to the paint store and asked for 1968 Lemans blue not knowing that GM had a 68 Lemans blue and a 69 Lemans blue. Well I had no idea that I had been sold 69 Lemans blue until I went back to the paint store a few years later after racing my 68 Camaro, and getting rock pecks behind the 15 inch wide Goodyear slicks, to repaint the quarter panels. I happen to buy the paint from a different employee and you know what happened, he gave me 68 Lemans blue and after spraying the quarters there was no doubt that it was a different shade of blue. I took the paint back and talked to the original employee, Willie who I became very good friends with, Willie then told me that when I asked for “Lemans blue” he assumed that I wanted the 69 Lemans blue because it looks like candy apple blue and all the painters used that color. We got the paint right and I again painted the quarters and everything was good on the paint. I did put some mud guards on it to help prevent the paint damage. I remember thinking why in the world would GM make two different colors of Lemans blue in two different years and only one year apart. You can look up the paint codes on 68 and 69 Camaros and you’ll see two different shades of Lemans blue. I was glad after we figured out the problem that I wound up with the 69 color because it’s a much prettier color than the 68 blue which is in my opinion a shade or two darker than the 69.

I would enjoy putting all new metal on this beautiful car. Dad has a very rare 69 Torino Talladega super cobra jet with 9 Ford, drag pak, tilt, pwer windows and driver's seat am/fm, 4 speed topoader , posi, and split buckets. He drive it for 3 weeks and stored it away in his climate controlled pole barn with special bay. The sloping front. Aerodynamic lights and extended. Lowered front end isn't appealing to me. The flush mounted rear window is hard to see out of. The front disc's and rear brakes were removed for storage along with the redline tires all under wraps. The original plastic is still on the seats. Dad hated that car, so he parked it and drove his 68 Shelby GT500 KR with twin intake, hotter Shelby cam, headers, exhaust. Dual 4bbl carbs and AC. the Talladega has a little over 800 original miles and his KR has 41k. That tells you what he favors. Well, my older brother asked Dad if he could have the 69 Talladega and Dad literally begged him to take it.. .free of charge, signed it over to JD and it's now in JDs climate controlled garage, trailored to every event. Dad hated that car. My brother's bought his trucking company. So the old guy man is happy with his KR. It's an automatic C6 with posi. Dad would love your car here. He's a Ford guy.
