Shocking, DNT M40 😂😂. So I was a massive electrical head from day 1, well almost. I moved to Sheffield at a very young age, my mate introduced me to the CB, would have been 1980, just before FM became legal. Anyway, after making my self a lot of money fixing CB's, converting Melos's, installing roger bleeps, I saved up for one of the 1st mountain bikes. Anyway, I've forgotten what the two boards were called, so on one side we had (CYBERNET), "I think", you know, York JCB 863, Rotel 240, Harrier CBX, Barracuda etc. Then on the other side we had (Uniden) "again, can't remember". So Uniden 200, Audioline 341, Cobra 148 GTL DX. If I am mistaken on the board names please correct me, all I know was the Uniden boards were better than all others for blead over. There weren't many CB's I didn't have at one point or another like the door stopper-Amstrad 901, fairy light bleed over box😂😂😂😂

Brilliant story and a similar sort of thing to myself if I’m honest but instead of the mountain bike i bought HiFi and the late 80’s is where i was more serious about electronics. I was always a Fan of Uniden boarded radios although Cybernets were slightly more sensitive. I actually don’t mind the Amstrad 901 and still have a few. I’ll drag them down one day and try them on here. Thanks for the good comment.

@@gtretroworld Yeah, I mean in 1980 I was 7/8, I got into hi fi's a bit later, I was a big fan of Technics, tbh, I always wanted Alpine to make some stacks, they made some amazing car stereos. I miss the CB days, I live in Norwich now and the CB is done here. A lot of ppl now use CB Radio app on phones or Zello, but it's just not the same. A Colt 1200, that was my first side band, I thought that thing was so cool until the Cobra 148. Thanks for the reply. You have some classic old radios there. I think the worst radio I ever saw was a Murphy homebase, I'm sure it had big suckers on the bottom. I'll check out some of your other videos, give them a like for you 👍

So you call people in a combination of code and channel. PMR systems let you call all users on one channel and one can respond back, so you might have different departments on different channels. Richard from the UK CB servicing channel may have worked with these as he does PMR systems for farmers.
