For me it represents the theme of dance in their relationship ("And I chose you The one I was dancin' with In New York", for ex) and also that their relationship in itself is a dance - the imagery of the relationship as a dance (or relationships in general). With the title "The rise and fall of the midwest princesses" , i think its like we are watching "the rise" in the first half of the album, all kinda happy, figuring herself out, and "the fall" is somewhat around the second half where she thinks shes "failed" for getting dropped by the record label. 😊

I'm enjoying watching a number of people's first (or first full) listens to "Midwest Princess," which I have no doubt is the greatest album anyone has put out in any popular music genre (my own main interest is rock n roll) in years. It's a new, instant classic. Chappell and her producer and co-writer Dan Nigro deserve every bit of fame, accolades, and rewards (she really could afford only a twin bed until just last year) she's now getting. Good job on your reaction vid! OT: Mulholland Drive is IMO the greatest film David Lynch ever made, and is as much a masterpiece as Chappell's album. Give it a look if he's at all to your tastes. Lynch also did Twin Peaks, Eraserhead, Elephant Man, Blue Velvet, and other beautiful, subversive weirdness. I was happy to know Chappell is also a cinephile and appreciates Mulholland Drive. (And I can almost guarantee that Lana loves that film too.)
