My bro when is the best time to hit this epic trail?
@p91rider2 күн бұрын
@RidewithTenzin I suggest between 3rd week August to 1st week September. You would want all the snow gone before going up. Check trailforks app and see trail conditions, they would say if its open. But with the hot weather we have now, the whole loop is probably open. Have a safe ride!

I have had this bike for 1 year now. It's amazing. It's "the" model to get, as it's quite a bit cheaper than the C70. (And it's usually on sale, which is how I got it). While it descends great, it's the climbing that will blow you away. The shop I bought it at was very cool, they allowed me to 'swap for cost' on a few key components. I bought a pair of spinergy alloy wheels (that were on sale for $200 off), I bought race face carbon cranks (which were being blow out as end of model cycle, save $150), I swapped out the tires for Specialized Ground Control 2bliss. All said, I ended up paying 'full retail', but with much better components. The deal was so good, I got one for my wife as well. Her medium weighs just over 25lbs. My extra-large weighs just over 27lbs. (That includes cages, pedals, and computer). Amazing bike, get one if you can...
@p91rider3 ай бұрын
@bikebudha01 that’s awesome! Yeah, it is indeed an amazing bike, this can also be a light duty trail bike, it can go up quickly and go down with finesse. With all the upgrades you did, it looks like you have a great bike combo for any trail. Nice work!
@malingehring1656 ай бұрын
I think you are really riding on dangerous trails. Almost all of the trails were narrow, with very high drop-off if you ever roll off the narrow path. If you fall, you will drop from a very high height!!
@p91rider6 ай бұрын
@malingehring165 the pit i fell down into is about 3-4 feet if no snow. It was soft due to snow. I know it’s looks dangerous but most of the trails in my local area are pretty safe, these are single tracks. But in this sport though, things can get rough and cause severe injuries. Good thing I put studs on, at least now I have traction on black ice.

After one fall (HARD) three years ago, I bought dedicated winter tires with studs for my fatty. They cost less than a single doctor's office visit with X-rays. We have several fatties, and now have summer and winter tires for all. Nice video. Appreciate you showing the struggles on the trail that most of us have to go through. Too many videos only show highly skilled riders.

@Navybyrde thanks man! The sport we love can be dangerous without proper equipment sometimes.

@@p91rider I found that installing and removing studs was too tedious for me, and found Arisun Sharktooth studded tires for less than the price of the studs for my buddy's Snowshoe XL tires. I don't have the budget for those, but the Arisun are very reasonably priced. Changing tires is easier than installing and removing the studs.
@p91rider7 ай бұрын
@Navybyrde that’s true, it is a lot of work installing and uninstalling studs. I end up leaving the studs and bought a set of summer tires maxxis minions fbf and fbr, change them each season.

These are my local trails! I have the A50 and find it's great for Edmonton. Do you always leave it in the slackest ride 4 setting? That's where i currently have mine and I'm thinking it feels the best. Maybe I'll see you out there one day.
@p91rider11 ай бұрын
@michaelc6236 thanks man! I put back now to neutral position ride four, the slackest great for bombing down. This bike is so good that it can handle some light duty trail ride and quick on climbs. For sure, we probably seen each other in the trails.

Love my rm c50 xl. Upgraded to 4 pot slx brakes and put the 2 pot on my gravel bike. Also upgraded to i9 1/1 wheels i30.5 with a disector up front. 35mm stem and a carbon bar moved over from my last bike. Stoked. So fast, yet so good downhill.

@davekal nice! That’s pretty much what I did in my element as well… only the saddle left stock. 😂. The bike is so good that takes the XC category to the next level.

Agree about the brakes. I have this exact model and swapped out the brakes for Shimano SLX 4-piston w/ 180mm rotor in front w/ standard SLX 2- piston in rear using the Tektro 160mm rotor, which is Shimano compatible. Much better stopping power and modulation.
