Stevie I was reading my first comment and I had to give my head a shake. I obviously missed your first reference to how you came to name this fly. I must have sounded foolish!! Here in North America, Chief Dan George was a well known public figure who represented American First Nations People with his quiet ways and his wisdom. He acted in a number of movies and series shows, the one I remember him best for was his role in The Outlaw Josie Wales. One of his best. Cheers!

Cheers Kerry, Outlaw of Josey Wales is one of my favorite movies. This fly is kind of a cross pattern of two wet flies , one is the Scottish fly the (Clan Chief) and is tied in the style of the Irish fly wet fly (Gorgeous George),,When i first tied this why i named it after the great man himself ..Chief Dan George ..I've had a lot of success with it ..cheers Stevie

This type of fly, looks more difficult to tie than they are. I think it puts a lot of tyers off, because they think its too difficult. You show the ease of putting a fly together from basic materials and it looks so well finished. Thank you Stevie very well presented
